DaC V5 PB 1

Today, we have great news!

We are pleased to announce that DaC V5 is released to the public as a beta.

THE BETA IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON OUR DISCORD

DISCORD LINK: Discord.gg

ONCE THE BETA HAS BEEN COMPLETED, WE WILL RELEASE THE FINAL VERSION ON MODDB.

Please continue reading the rest of this article:

Installation instructions, an overview of the key V5 changes and additions, and the download link can be found in dac_install channel on Discord. However, unlike prior releases, we are taking a two-stage process for this release. It will first be released as an open beta on our Discord, and we will periodically issue hotfixes to correct any bugs and perhaps even add new minor batches of content. Once we are pleased with its state, we will release a full release on ModDB. Although its an open beta, V5 is feature complete and has a tremendous amount of polish. The main difference between the open beta and full release is that the open beta does not feature Shattered Alliances. Please report any bugs in dac_bug_reports channel on Discord as we are watching, and let us know if certain campaigns are too easy or too hard.

DaC V5 is a product of a tremendous amount of people who have all put in hundreds of hours of effort, and the combined result of a fantastic team of DaC Modding Council that has included Arachîr Galudirithon, Hummingbird, Arkay, TheEliteDwarf, Castellan of Angmar, Callistonia, Fynn, Lerynian, the CoweringComa, White in the Black Cloud, Pythax and myself. We also thank our Beta Council and V5 Testers for their efforts in testing DaC, with special mentions to Sir Augmiund and Medik. V5 would also not be possible without the very generous contributors who have allowed us to use resources such as models, and animations- these include BillBaraka, the DCI Last Alliance Team and the Europa Barbarorum II Team.

Thank you all for your patience- we hope you have a fantastic time with the DaC V5 Open Beta!

Keep an eye on the Discord for hotfix releases and eventually we'll release the final version (which will primarily be filled with bug fixes that are found during the open beta).

One thing to know is that V5 is a stable, feature-rich version so there won't be any new, major additions between the open beta and full release (there may be some cosmetic/minor new pieces of content).

Have you considered adding the excellent Angmar and Rhudaur Expansion Mod (for Divide and Conquer 4.6)?

Are there any Hotfixes this year ? I have V5 and a Hotfix released in December but I'm also hearing some players are finding bugs. Not sure if that means another Hotfix or we wait for V6 ?

BTW, excellent work to all involved, I've been watching videos of game play, units look fantastic.

Hello ,

First I would like to say thank you for this mod is awesome . However in my opinion , there are some units stats that do not make sense . For instance , you have a unit called Dunedain Blademasters , that are subpar . The Dunedain are the descedants of Numenor , and the Numenoreans were the strongest force in Middle-Earth , even counting the Noldor . So , it does not make sense that a unit with a badass name like that is way weaker than its counterpart , the Noldor Veterans , and it does not make sense for a 2-handed unit to have less attack than a spear and shield unit or a sword and shield unit. The units I am talking about are some high-elves units and some Lothlorien units . Generally , the Dunedain infantry needs to be buffed to fit the lore of Numenor . You have the mithlond nobles and Eregion smith be completely overpowered , and the Dunedain Blademasters or the Minas Ithil guardians be **** compared the those units . And I do not say have that they need to have better defense , but as they are elite Dunedain units , those two need to have at least more attacke power. And aslo , you need to give both the Dunedain blademasters and Minas Ithil guardian a bonus against armour , and a bonus for fighting Cav or larger enemies , like Trolls and Olog-Hai. I mean , what does not make sense , is that the temple wards two-handed unit are Numenoreans and are a lot stronger than the Dunedain Blademasters or the Minas Ithil guardians . I think Dunadain Bldemasters and Minas ithil Guardians must have an attack power of 20 and defence 27. And make the temple wards the same , no problem . But one cannot be stronger thant the other ,cause essentially they are all Numenoreans.

Another issue is the Swan knights . According to the lore , the Swan Knights were the most elite cav unit in the West . And their attack power is way too low . Plus , you have not given them an effect against large or even an effect against infantry , while the temple wards cav have both those effects. So , in a clash between them , the Swan Knights get their ***** kicked . That is wrong. And , speaking of cav , the whole Rohirim Cav roster needs to be reworked . The Rohirim where the horsemasters pf the west , and they do not have even an elite unit capable of competing with their enemies .

Again , your mod is awesome , I completely enjoy it , but there are some things that need to be reworked.
