Crashing on launch means you installed it wrong or the download has messed up. Though you can try to run this cleaner and see if it makes difference. Link: Mega.co.nz

read the Tutorial on to launch it.
you have to change the name of the file and launch it through the regular medieval game.

I don't get it. What do you mean it does not work? By "not working" you mean the background picture does not have updated version number? -.- Because the patch itself is working alright for me, only the version number was not updated. I can clearly see how the number of AI agents has been reduced and the new mercenary unit available for Dwarves.

When I had the patch 1, it said I had version 0.1. Now I updated and it's saying 1.0, so I wouldn't give a damn what it reads in there, as long as it works in the game.

Tried to start it up like I do usually and it started up regular Americas (I got Medieval 2 on steam), then I got a ctd. So thanks to this patch I'll have to re-install my entire game.

What about the "Verify Game Integrity" feature Steam has? Maybe you don't have to install the whole game, just the Americas expansion.

Have you followed these steps to the word; Twcenter.net .. scroll down for the DaC installation

yes, I made use of the Verify game integrity feature Steam has, and I tried to launch Teutonic and Britannia too, even the regular Medieval 2, but to no avail, every time it crashes, and yes, I followed those steps to the letter.

I noticed, when installing this over patch 1, custom battles will not work. Reinstalling Third Age Total War and then DaC in a proper order will fix this.

i did notice, for shadow of mirkwood, the warg riders unit, the wargs themselves do not have a texture, they are shiny, like they are made of glass while, the riders themselves are fine, i really dont care as it doesnt break the game or anything, but just thought i should let you know

Hello. This patch works awesome of course but I have a little problem. I'm playing OoMM. I read in changelog this: "Simplified military buildings tree", and i thougt; cool it'll be nice. But i'm about 30 Turn and Khazad Dum Dwarves are near Moria. Thing is, that i haven't any good units to defend it. I mean i can't build any barracks or drill square/troll cages. Even building browser don't show barracks. I started new game with couple factions and no one can build barracks. Please explain this :D

becuase it takes a while for the buildings to become available, i didnt get the new buildings that gave me better uits as the shadow of mirkwood until roughly the year 2990 or so (the game starts at 2980)

Oh man... After 10 years you still can't recruit better units? That's stupid o.O Why so loooong. When i was playing on first patch it was normally. After 20-25 turns i could recruit heavy moria halberd, heavy moria infantry and heavy archers.

because this mods makes it so you start before the fellowship of the ring, this is when bilbo is still in the shire and has the ring, because the actual events dont take place till 3000, so the beginning is expanding your borders against bandits and getting ready for war, it wouldnt be fun if you started ready to go with all the good units, you have to build up your infrastructure then start macking the better units

My question is again here because nobody answered. I would like to know how many turns I must wait to recruit better units. I have played about 14 hours OotMM campaign and I still can't build barracks/ drill squares/troll cages. Please answer

I think it's 5 turns a year and you need to wait until around ten or eleven years after the games start. You must also have all the best buildings beforehand.

For anyone having CTD in this new patch check this:

Twcenter.net

Also, you could move the medieval II game folder from program files to your documents or w/e... Altough, I don't think that's save compatible(not sure if it's because of the new patch or because I moved the folder)

Edrahil Feb 4 2014, 1:14pm replied:

It's save game compatible to move the whole game folder, because the saves are located inside the game folder.

This new DaC update is not save game compatible.

Hi! Great job, favourite mod for favourite mod for favourite game :D
But I have a question: I have installed 1.2 patch, and all the cool Minas Ithil units disappeared from the quick battles. - I don't have time nor patience to play until I could see that they appear in Minas Morgul, if I play campaning or not, please tell me - Have they been competely removed, or just from the costum battles?

Big question here: Uh, the first time I opened up DaC, the loading screen sat there for a good three minutes before the program shutdown. Now, whenever I try to play it, I get the loading screen for 5 seconds before it shuts off. Did I screw up while installing the mod?

I believe I have installed the mod correctly (it can go up to the faction selection screen), but when I want to select a faction. It plays the intro and right when it is about to complete the loading screen for the campaign map, the game crashes on me. Any solutions?
