smooth weapons only, use with your favorite monster addons
As i saw a bug report for DSDr that told me monsters don't work like they should on some maps and wads i decided that the best cause of action is to isolate the weapons. So the monsters are how they are in vanilla , yes i tested all the maps in the bug report to make sure (used GzDoom 4.7.1) and of course it works with all zdoom derivatives
log:
v6 - removed the hd sfx form dsdr
v5 - converted all sprites to the png truecolor format (previously in lmp doom format) for compatibility
v4 - everything gone but the weapons :)
v3 - removed unnecessary gore that conflicts with custom gore added with other mods.
v2 - removed bugs regarding sprite timing or overwriting.
It works perfectly, but the arch viles seem to be bugged. When I kill one the death animation plays, and then it cuts to the resurrection animation. I fixed it with the regular DSD file, since I am playing Scythe at the moment and there are no custom monsters in it.
In ZDL I am using SCYTHE.WAD at the top priority, then the DSD remake weapons only pk3, and then the doom 2 sprite fixes D2SPFX19.WAD. It got fixed when I swapped the weapons only pk3 with the DSD remake pk3
fixed it , it was a simple fix , just removed some files and made the size a bit smaller . Thx for letting me know

this "update" should also fix any misc. issues with sprites. make sure to re-download the file .
now its (nearly) perfect for autoload builds

even though this is meant to be weapons only, it still seems to affect a lot of sprites which arent weapons. this includes power-ups, barrels, and some decorations like this pile of skulls I.imgur.com
also it still has splash effects for when an enemy dies on a liquid surface although maybe this is less of an issue
like in the above screenshot, its easiest to spot these if you have voxel doom enabled since affected sprites will show up as, well, sprites. instead of models.
thx for letting me know, i will fix (remove) this in v4 coming mid September. Noticed the smooth liquids are still here, yet idk if i should remove them , prob yes.

Update V5 is out! I converted every sprite to be a png , it ups the file size :( but fixes palette issues on maps like Ancient Aliens :). I will implement these fixes in the main DSDR branch in a short time , and while you wait make sure to re-download the updated file. Thx for the support and feedback is much appreciated.

Would you consider making the opposite of this? A version that keeps everything from Smooth Doom except the weapons.
monster only version does exist , but its old and buggy , i could make something completely new or just update the old version.
Is it possible to make an HD sound toggle in case you want to keep original sounds?

just to bee clear, i have seen some sprite misalignment on Ancient Aliens especially for muzzle blasts, it seems the original weapons were off center or something similar. Just thinking out loud.

Too bad smooth doom doesn't have the option to reload on ammo with animations. Good job and very useful with voxel doom!
