Deeds of Arms and Chivalry is a modification for Mount & Blade: Warband which focuses on the Hundred Years War between France and England, specifically during the early 15th Century.
A Zeneise (Genoese) X-bowman. These elite archers were not exclusively from Genoa. Rather, the term was collectively used for mercenaries from northern Italy in general. This region was famously fertile, thus rich, thus populated, thus communally divided and prone to squabbling. The fighting men of the region, thus, were experienced, tough and very well equipped.
This Zeneise X-bowman wears a long, full-sleeved mail hauberk, a breastplate and plate legs. His head is protected with a close-fitting barbuta and a mail collar. Note the absence of arm plate defenses (would interfere with operating the crossbow) and back-plate (not needed) and higher neck defense such as a bevor or a full aventail (since he would need to flex his neck to sight down his weapon).
