New public release! Working and improved AI for all factions, many gameplay fixes, several new units, models and textures!
Now in slimmer version! The previous file uploaded recently had a lot of old clutter just filling space.
Sorry for the delay for this new release but getting a working AI for all factions proved more challenging than expected (great thanks to Thudo for taking care of it). The team is still working on models and mechanics and we plan for more updates of this mod in the future.
How to Install:
1-Delete any old DoW40K_SS folder you had in your Dawn of War Soulstorm directory.
2-Extract this package in your Dawn of War Soulstorm directory.
3-Start up the game and select FoK from the mod manager!
General Gameplay notes:
-Most production buildings need a generator nearby to be able to build units.
-You can only reinforce squads and weapons near listening posts, production buildings, or transport vehicles.
-Remember to turn on AIScar in special match rules to improve the challenge of computer opponents!
-This mod seeks to replicate the Tabletop Force Organization chart, meaning there's actually multiple smaller populations caps: 2 HQ(leader units), 3 elites (terminators, nobz, etc), 6 troops (basic infantry, etc), 3 fast attack (vypers, assault marines, etc) and 3 heavy support (predators, leman russes, etc). Transports like rhinos and chimeras have their own population cap. Massive battles special rule increases the caps.
However currently only troops and heavy support are shown on the UI.
So, for example, if you're playing space marines with massive battles turned on, you can get a maximum of 4 heavy support vehicles, say 4 predators. But then you could also grab 4 land speeder squadrons with your fast attack slots, and then some rhinos and razorbacks, which would result in a lot more than 4 vehicles.

-Warlocks no longer indepent commanders.
-Guardians cheaper, worse acuraccy, single weapon platform, can get a warlock leader.
-Proper textures for Swooping Hawks.
IG:
-Improved AI, shouldn't crash now.
-The third, new doctrine now unlocks special veteran squads, but still a work in progress.
Necrons:
-Improved AI.
-Added Ghost Ark.
-Added Annihilation Barge.
-Added Death Marks.
Inquisition:
-Improved AI.
-Sisters of Battle Acts of Faith buffed.
-Added some vehicle upgrades.
Dark Eldar:
-Improved AI.
-Added wracks.
And a lot of minor bug fixes and tweaks for everybody. Yeah Orks and Tau didn't get much new this update. We plan to give them more love in the future, but it had been a lot of time since the last public release.

I don't understand that question. Tau were perfectly viable in the previous release. They gets crisis suit squads that can deep strike, firewarriors with markerlights to shoot the enemy good, kroot to hold the line, T2 you get ion cannon hammerheads, piranhas and devilfishes transports to support your troops, and then T3 broadside squads with railguns.

Ahhhh, an excellent Beta (not that I had any doubts). As far as graphics glitches or small bugs like that should I just write you in a PM?
Any chance of implementing the tyranid mod into this? It had great models all ready to go. Or was there a whole bag of worms somewhere to do with that.

Tyranid mod devs are really anal about it's copyright, I think. They wont allow you to just copy it over into your mod and massively improve them whilst giving credit, you NEED to use the buggy and awkward as **** combiner method, otherwise they will basically fcuk you and your mod with bad reputation.

Improved AI GOOD Easy AI is too easy lol...i play easy cause im trying to get the hang of this mod not that reinforcing at control points is hard its all the other stuff.

Did you build a gen near the tank building? Because non-HQ production buildings now need gens to operate, with the exception of IG bunkers as they are meant to be built in the frontline.

Hi, I'm trying to install the mod, I extract it to >E:\Steam\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Dawn of War Soulstorm
But when I go to select it from the menu of DOWSS, it simply isn't there. Everything is in it's correct place, and any help is appreciated
Impossible.
You either have a dual steam library: i. e. you have another place that steam stores your gamedata, or you have botched the file placement (usually happens when extracting from archive that the extraction puts everything into folders while it should be out of them) - the .module file has to be in the same folder as your SS exe and the rest of the mod is supposed to go in one folder deeper.
If these two are not the case, you might have a damaged archive. Try redownloading
Actually the same thing is happening to me.Using steam version and unpacking it to the mentioned root folder. Simply not showing up in the mod manager.I checked as per your instructions, everything's fine

You honestly have no idea how happy this makes me. I have been waiting for this since the last major release in 2010 (well, I downloaded it in around 2012), but sweet mother of god I'm so excited right now. I had no idea this was still under construction, and I'm so glad it is. Keep on going, bud!

This is great guys, i got it since i played the dark crusade version of the mod but this new release doesnt allow the greater daemon to possess the specific god champion but instead the greater daemon unit will appear from the armory and i can make all four greater daemons no matter which mark i choose i think. So please try to fix that with a patch soon, its a must issue. Also is there a donate link cause i can not find any. For example Ultimate apocalypse mod has a donate link.
Why did you take the different chaos space marine textures off? the one that differs depending on which god you follow? That was a great feature of the chaos race.

Why i can have only 1/3 vehicle cap with chaos? :(
Because of the following reasoning:
-In tabletop you can take 3 Heavy Support options.
-However some factions can take up to 3 vehicles in a single heavy support choice, like tomb sypders from necrons.
-To represent that, those factions get 9 vehicle cap, with the vehicles that can be taken in multiples just taking 1 cap each, and regular tanks taking 3 cap.
-Factions that have no "multiple vehicles per heavy slot choice" rule have just 3 vehicle cap, however all of their tanks cost only 1 vehicle cap.
