Seems like some marines got some banshee trophy's to me. But I might have missed a large piece of lore about this.
the adeptus custodes are the emperor of mankind's personal bodyguards :)
they're also very different in terms of making and training them
adeptus custodes are also stronger and faster than space marines but are much rarer due to how time consuming they are to create.
They also never leave Holy Terra and never use their wargear.
