Tactical Ballistics 7.8

This is a SERVER SIDE ONLY modification.  This means that this file should ONLY be used on a hosting server, NEVER the player or the client.  If you try to install this on a client, you will no longer be able to play on any other battlefield 2142 servers EVER except for ones specifically modified for the Tacticle Ballistics mod.  If installed on a client (end-user) system,  you will have to reinstall battlefield 2142 all over again to play on regular 2142 servers.

SO DO NOT INSTALL THIS ON YOUR BATTLEFIELD 2142 GAME!  ONLY install this on a dedicated box for 2142.

++ Installing ++

When preparing to install this server side mod, it is strongly recommended that server administrators back up their exisiting 2142 directory as this mod will replace critical files needed to host battlefield 2142 servers.

To install, carefully replace each file from the mod onto the server with the corresponding files, taking extreme care and attention to which folder each files go into.  Please do not simply drag and drop as this can cause problems with the server.

Next locate and delete all MD5 files from the mods/bf2142 directory.  Please also remove the md5 files from EACH of the levels directory.  Failure to remove these files will cause clients to get instantly kicked for using modified data.

Once the approperiate files have been replaced and deleted, start up a normal 2142 non-ranked game like you would normally, using whatever settings your heart desires.  Make sure a fellow friend can connect to the server without getting kicked or crashing to the desktop.  If a player gets crashed to the desktop, then reinstall the mod again.  If players OR the server continue to crash, delete the bf2142 folder from your mods directory, place a fresh copy of bf2142 from your backup folder, and try agian.

It is critical that these steps be taken so that all players can enjoy the mods.

Server admins are encouraged to continue editing the server and making their own changes.  Please note that some how along the way, parachutes have been permanently disabled, yet I can't recall how or why.  So server admins wishing to use parachutes should revert back to 5.1 files.  To learn how to edit server settings and provide new experiences for players, goto the link below to learn how.

        self.masterAdmins = ['','','']

This is the sections that admins need to add their usernames, with NO spaces and NO tags.  Admins wishing to grant editing powers to players (powers to use # commands), should add those names here:

These files are directly from the EMS Server and reflect the latest changes.  I apologize that I never released a new manual for the latest server side mod.  The manual has since been lost when I moved and I don't dare try to create a new one.  I will no longer be supporting 2142 or any of my mods.  All questions can be answered by the community in general.  I am off to create games for new engines.
