Total Conversion mod. Takes Company of Heroes from WW2 to the Vietnam Conflict.
The M16A1 will be accessable by most american units once the upgrade is purchased from the infantry barracks, the US marines also get unlocked once the M16 upgrade is purchased.
That clipping on the soldiers wrist obviously won't be there for the final release, it just shows up in Worldbuilder.
So are the marines seperate units from the regular army rifleman if so like, are they like better or worse, are they doctrine infantry or just specialized ? but its looking great so far i cant wait :)
Yes, the marines are seperate from regular army but not by doctrine, they're like the grenadiers to the volksgrenadiers. Maybe we will show the new tech tree for americans later this week.
oh cool is it the same perhaps like NVA to Vietcong as marines to army? :)
XD
awesome :D well i cant wait keep up the good work the vietnam is one of my favorite wars and not enough games on it :D
Obviously not my model -_- but nevertheless, I still like the fact the US infantry can access the "Black Rifle." :)
We can't get any of your models into the game without A) you using 3DS MAX 08 to do it, exporting the models and then B) Me animating them and since the farthest I've gotten with animating is setting up OE.
And if possible this model will probably need to be resized just so it's maybe 1.2x bigger so the butt of the rifle is actually touching his shoulder or close enough to appear so... IDK though it's not really my biggest concern.
i litteraly love this gun! <3
You should give the army guys and machinegunners ALICE Tropical Rucksacks, I just love the Rucksack and it would be a great addition to the realism and historical accurary, and also you should get some field canteens on the sides/hips like the real marines had, a buttpack and another great addition was a cigarette pack/ace of spades and / or a 1964's Anti Insect spray on the helmet that the everyday us soldier had. Other than that, good work man and good luck at finishing this mod, im really scared and hope you wont end up like the mod team of Hell in Vietnam.
I don't think we're dying anytime soon!
And as for the ALICE sacks, yes I know I've been doing my research lately and these were the norm for all units from special forces to regular infantry. But we rely on our model source, which is BDNY and Aidas2 but as you probs read on the ZM page his hard drive totally crashed so until he gets something figured out we have no model income, although Aaron (schalmatt) has the right program for modelling and we will soon figure out the exporter so we can begin making our own stuff, once we get a start on this we will have models for everything you could ever need in vietnam :P
Then Im'a get to work animating so we can have all the stuff necessary to turn this into a vietnam era mod.
Its good to hear you and your info (with exception of the hard drive crash, my apologies if you say so (english isnt my primary language)) however, i hope your morale will keep up like this, ill be happy to catch some new updates, over n out :)
will there be any helicopter support?:P Napalm?
The mod is just great XD dont forget about medics,it played a vital role in the war :Pmaybe u can make an ambulance since any injured soldier on the american side was helped.Or what would be even better if u make a realistic hospital!Just a huge tent that is filled with injured soldiers to get the right feeling!
If there are anyway in which i can help u with mod tell me:)I can translate into four languages :)
love it
