Looking good, i'm guessing this will be handled like the mg42 in the original CoH?
No, it will be enbedded into sandbags and is constructed as an emplacement.
He he, remind me of the TOW emplacement in World in Conflict, does this kind of weapon come with population cap? I hope the limitation prevent TOW camp spam.
Yes of course there will be caps to prevent TOW spamming...
Will the turret have a 360 degrees aim?
yes
So while China continues to use WW2-esque anti tank guns, while the other parts of the world use...missiles..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I barely see anti tank guns anymore o_0
Actually, the Type 86 Anti Tank gun was developed ~6 years after the M1 Abrams was taken into service by the U.S. Army in 1980. The performance of the Type 86 is not comparable to WW2 anti tank guns. You are right though, most anti tank guns are self propelled now a days, while Main Battle Tanks are more favored now a days by army's around the globe.
China will have the PF98 as a doctrine upgrade:
Moderncombat.blacksandstudio.com
which is practically the Chinese variant of the TOW, so don't worry :)
the U.S Army doesnt use tow missles any more they use hellfire missles
Hellfires are Air to Ground Missiles, used by Apache helicopters. TOWs are for land based launch systems.
Great :D
It is ironic, the real life 100mm AT gun cannot be moved by 3 men no matter how hard you try .The 125mm AT gun in my old unit demands a squad of 10 men to just push it into firing position. Yes we were used to operate type 86, but they are all retired from regular and reserve forces. However the TOW missile launchers are much lighter and can be used in same manner of PF-98 in game, but instead they are in a stationary firing position. I don't understand why the MC team made such a decision, I just don't know...
I was a PLA reserve force member for 4 years, as a reserve officer when I was in university. I have seen 125mm AT guns in our units and HJ-8 missiles in Regular troops, the HJ-8 is almost same to TOW missiles, the lightest HJ-8 variant can even be operated by 2 men like the FGM-148 Javelin missiles. But the AT guns, they are big, and heavy. As I said it demands more than just 3 men to move them from the truck to the firing position if we want to make it fast and efficient. It was impossible for 3 of us to move them like Pak38 in CoH. The last time I checked, the 125mm AT guns will be phased out in near future, and replaced by HJ-8 missiles in reserve forces, and PLA regulars will surely get much better toys, of course.
can i request for Javelin AT?
