The mod features both Allied and Soviet factions from the original C&C Red Alert! Attack Dogs, Tesla Coils, Naval Warfare, Gap Generators, M.A.D. Tanks, and even Chronoshifting are all included in the mod! The nation subfactions and the story campaigns are still under development and will come at a later date.

I really don't want to be an ******* here, I know this isnt a realistic type mod, but the Yaks only have their guns in the nose, up to 3 cannons or so.

If you are going for a semi-realistic tone, that would be a cool change!

To be fair, the Yak portrayed in RA1 cutscenes had its guns in the wings (because alternate universe I guess?), although I'd say they're too far out on this model, and should instead be where the 2 sets of smaller guns(?) are.

Yeah either/or will be used. As also mentioned its where you shrug and say "alternate universe" as it will be the common theme with a lot of things between the main factions.

It is alternate universe. So, they probably created ground-attack version of Yak.
I think Il-2 or Il-10 more fits this role. But, possible developers didn't know about them much.
