Colours based on plates from 17th century.
These are great! Where do you find all this primary source material? I ask as a history student :P
The primary sources include Osprey books, the Vinhuizen collection (mostly for the Dutch), images on wikipedia/blogs, and in the case of early French units like these, plates (not sure of the name I think Maribot) whose copyright expired in the 1800s). You can see the Vinhuizen collection onthe nypl.org website.
