Eastern Front is a free mod for Company of Heroes. Following the ethos of mimicking a Relic Entertainment expansion pack, Eastern Front has succeeded in adding two full new factions, the Soviet Red Army and the German Ostheer, packed with unique and exciting units to the existing armies - a feat never before achieved in the Company of Heroes world.

Initially I didn't pay attention to it's thumbnail but now after I see the whole thing up close I can't help but note the amount on polygons. It easily has more polygons than the average tank. Weren't you guy trying to limit the polycount as much you can?

I have to disagree with you. Look at the rounded sections, they are very well textured but you can see the edges. This looks excellently made and textured.

That was a great observation, I couldn't have expected less from a veteran CoH modder and 3D/2D artist :D.

The model so far is ~2100 triangles(+~600 wreck), but it is certainly a complex piece of artillery. Although DMz can give you more information than I about it.

Good textures make wonders on low poly models, just as you said. Just to put it as reference, our T-60 is under 5000 triangles with wreck.

Wow, now 2000p doesn't sound like too much for the field gun =)
