Codename: DOOM is a a project that aims to re-create the original DOOM under an improved id Tech 4 engine. It adds a realistic touch to the original DOOM levels, monsters and weapons, but keeps the same old-school gameplay mechanics.
Mod was dead up until recently.
COVID-19 brought it back.
I'm currently implementing everything I got to be playable (and some bonuses) and then we'll see if it should continue.
If you want to help I need a coder. Mostly about porting some stuff and compiling :)

No it is not dead. I am mostly trying to get monsters and weapons playable, I won't touch mapping alone other than what it is and not finished. Also I could use a coder.
I remember the last time I tried messing with a 3d translated otherwise verbatim id tech 4 rendition of the original gangster experience. Whoever was responsible used all the graphics API draw call budget on floor geometry.

i would if i knew thing about doom 3 modding. i know its different original doom builder.
you might be able to find some at discords an zdoom forum.
