This is a english language file for the CCG2 Beta Chinese Version mod. You will still require the mod from the link given as this english file is to replace the chinese file named CCG2Lang.big.
It was created by using a script to compare the chinese cnc3.ini (extracted from the mods cn3.csf located in CCG2Lang.big) with the english cnc3.ini. The keys of the chinese cnc3.ini not in the english cnc3.ini where added to a file named mod.str. The custom faction keys that match GDI keys got their values and any other keys got the key names with prefixes removed and spaces inserted. Then manual editing occurred to fix or modify the values to something better to suit.
May not be perfect, though it is better than no english language at all. I got some descriptions from cnc.fandom.com and others. If I was not sure, then the key descriptions for the values remain.
This file is the same .big filename so can replace the chinese CCG2Lang.big with the CCG2Lang.big in the zipfile I have provided. The initial posted CCG2Lang.big file that I posted, contained cnc3.csf in it, which required all default entries and custom entries. The new posted file contains a mod.str file, which is only the custom keys and values so it is improved with some new additions and is now much smaller, so is easier to review and edit.
If anyone has some knowledge about the mods upgrades and such which I still do not understand, then a helpful comment would be nice.
I am not the creator of the CCG2 mod so please refrain from asking me questions about the mod.
I just did a conversion of CCG2Lang.big file to english. I thank the creator for their effort in making the mod and sharing it.
Took 5 years.
I downloaded the mod only a month ago. I felt lost not knowing what button did what, what troops to pick, excetera. I decided it could use some improvement. I consider it much better now to play that I considered it worth sharing. I hope my effort helps to make the mod better for all of the english players to enjoy now.
Will you please imporve the ZH version of your mod? Some of us still playing that and its pretty damm good.
