A bugfix, rules compliance, and expanded content modification for Troika's 'The Temple of Elemental Evil.'
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions are taken directly from the Circle of Eight Modpack 5.7.0 Release Notes. Installation is now extremely simple: follow these six simple steps and you'll be on your way to happy gaming.
STEP 1:
INSTALL THE TEMPLE OF ELEMENTAL EVIL GAME
If you don't already have it installed, use your game CDs to install The Temple of Elemental Evil.
STEP 2:
INSTALL ATARI PATCH 1
Atari's ToEE patch 2 includes all the fixes from Atari's ToEE patch 1, but there have been reports from people who experienced problems when they skipped patch 1. Therefore, we recommend installing it first, just to be on the safe side. After downloading, simply double-click the patch and it will install automatically. It is available here:
STEP 3:
INSTALL ATARI PATCH 2
After installing Atari patch 1, install Atari patch 2. After downloading, simply double-click the patch and it will install automatically. It is available here:
STEP 4:
DO NOT INSTALL ATARI PATCH 3
You SHOULD NOT install Atari's patch 3, since it's not compatible with this mod. The only additional feature patch 3 contains anyway is a fix for the infamous DirectX 9.0c looting bug. But this particular issue is also addressed by the CO8 modpack. If you have installed patch 3 already and want to get rid of it, just install patch 2 overtop of it.
STEP 5:
INSTALL MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK VERSION 2.0
Microsoft's .NET Framework Version 2.0 (or higher) is required for Agetian's Temple of Elemental Evil Front-End X (see below). Get .NET here, if you haven't installed it via Windows Update already:
Most modern systems should already have this installed. To check if it's installed on your system, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and look for 'Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.' Versions above 2.0 are compatible, but you have to have at least 2.0.
STEP 6:
INSTALL CO8 MODPACK 5.7.0
After you have completed the above steps, open the CO8 MODPACK 5.7.0 winRAR archive and extract the contents to your ToEE root directory, which is normally C:\Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil. Next, open Windows Explorer and navigate to this same directory. Inside you'll find an application called 'TFE-X,' which is the Co8 front end utility. Double click the icon.
If this is a new installation, TFE-X will perform the necessary operations to convert your installation for use with the CO8 modpack. Be patient; this can take some time. When TFE-X is finished, it will report the status to you in a popup window. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS POPUP NOTIFICATION WINDOW, THE CONVERSION IS NOT COMPLETE. DO NOT CTRL-ALT-DEL OUT OF THE TFE-X APPLICATION. WAIT FOR THE POPUP WINDOW.
If this is an existing installation to which you are simply adding the Co8 5.7.0 BETA module, run TFE-X, select Circle of Eight Modpack 5.7.0 BETA, and click 'activate.' WAIT FOR THE POPUP WINDOW TO TELL YOU THAT THE MODULE ACTIVATION IS COMPLETE. DO NOT CTRL-ALT-DEL OUT OF THE TFE-X APPLICATION.
Afterwards, you may customize various options through TFE-X and launch the game.
We hope you enjoy the Circle of Eight Modpack 5.7.0 BETA!

Pretty much can't play TTOEE without this. Highly recommended.
So... this is a standalone or an update for another mod?
