Although a lightsaber can run out of power (would suck when you'd need it for combat and the lightsaber no longer had power) so using a regular glowrod is preferred.
Also is a lightsaber still a lightsaber if it has no power? ~Kreia's teachings

For me it's still a lightsaber,what it could be? A beautiful and uncommon piece of metal?
