I don't understand what you are saying by "more size", and, also, why do you want me to add rail-cannon ? With all those missiles and 2 Gauss MG, I think it is already well equipped...
well i mean make it wider and increase its length and for armaments i mean you should add a variant of a orca with rail cannon .ect.
For the size, I can't easily balance it, otherwise, it will not look enought massive for an "Assault" Orca.
For the weapon, your idea is interesting, I will see if it can fit in one of the others sub-factions.

I can perhaps add a squad system, but it might cause some problem, like impossibility to put the squad into a transport or a structure.
For your second proposition, It might be possible... Sort of weapon that transform the unit into a "slave unit"... But the same problem will appear because it is already the system used by squads in Generals...
There is still perhaps a way to realize them : editing the "game.data", but I don't know how to do that... It is really far away from my actuals codding shills...
You just gave me an interesting idea for the squad system:
a squad is 1 unit code wise that adds invisible drones when adding members. visually the entire squad will look like a group of units standing together.
How does it work:
the squad unit is one object, so it functions just like any other unit in therms of garissoning, for the drones it doesn't matter for they will just follow the transport.
adding members: each member added is purchased by permanent upgrade that increases unit health, when health is lost a member dies, simply removing it from visual display (ok one can only remove 2 members due to hp states: damaged, realy damaged)
the best system for this would be having a basic squad and then allow the addition of a special weapons guy or a squad leader or so.
Note: the idea would probably work, i don't see why it wouldn't, but:
-weapon efficiency doesn't change depending on damage(number of members)
-it will be a lot of animating and animation code, though not much more than generic infantry

Map sizes are rather limited in Generals and Zero Hour, Twilight Flame for instance is already nearing the engine's limits.
There is offcourse the option of making line shaped maps, than the max is (in worldbuillder settings) about 500 by 150 alligning to a real-life 1.5 kilometers by 450 meters. Still mapsizes are unfortunately quite limited.
