Command & Conquer Red Alert History is a small mod that adds a few new units. The idea came about because I wondered what a few Red Alert units would look like and perform inside the Tiberium wars engine. I consider this mod a 'museum', wherein I add a few historical pieces that I like into the C&C3; engine! The Mod will be updated by adding a few units at a time (typically around 10 items). The mod is a mixture of mostly EA & public models, as well as a few original models done by me. Check the forums & articles for detailed information and for in-depth discussion.
A unit of Yaks can be called upon periodically to provide strafing runs against ground targets and ward off\destroy helicopters.
It is possible to upgrade each Yak with a NS-45 'nose' cannon, which adds 'tank hunter' capabilities to the aircraft.
This is a Black_Drakon model and texture.
Again Im impresseed, now for P51s with rockets for the Allies please. ;)
Why? I mean this is a unit based off a RA1 unit, so it makes sense. The Allies never had P51s in this universe. Not only that the Allies are supposed to be technologically advanced. So why?
There was a P51-j (a P51 with a ramjet) concept that Westwood made (for RA2), but was never used. This is why the P51 appears in this mod.
Already had that plan!
The allies will have a similar reinforcement power for their P51.
And the allied player will be able to upgrade each P51 individually with H.V.A.R rockets.
<<There was a P51-j (a P51 with a ramjet) concept that Westwood made (for RA2), but was never used. This is why the P51 appears in this mod.>>
It isn't the important reason for put in P-51.
I apologize!
Lets try this reason: I wanted to put it in.
1) It is of Westwood (either appeared in a Red alert game, was a concept, was used in FMV or cameo art, anything to do with the History of RA).
2) I like it.
Can be History of Red Alert, it's units who were realized in Red Alert games (not in concept-arts). And units who were drawn, but didn't realize in game, means counted them not pertinent, for many reasons, and can't be part of the original History Red Alert.
You're going to love the next unit then!

I find WW2 era plane in RedAlert universe kind of obsolete, even for russians.
So you never played Red alert then? I did, and I liked the Yaks (which featured in the first Soviet mission) so they are in this mod.
I played RA2 mostly. I tried the first RA, but I couldn't even tell the difference between infantry - looked all like same set of squares to me.
Anyway, mixing the three titles together - there is too big difference between the first and the last. Look, allies have Harbinger with energetic weapons and soviets got these? Shouldn't they rather get something big and slow...
They have 2 different Kirovs (big and slow)...
To be fair, modern airforces are going back to Propellers for COIN (Counter Insurgency) Aircraft, its also WW3 so everything that could be used, would be used, gotta stop those Conscript/GI Riflement waves!
CommanderDef, Westwood should put old units like MiG-15 or M48 patton and other in first RA, but they used modern vehicles instead. But i like these game even with these units. And these is alternate reality, so in these world science could be more advance to develop tech like MiG-29 or Apache Longbow in 1950-s
Some propeller attack aircrafts are still in use today. Look at these one En.wikipedia.org some of them used by US airforce
And Yak is awesome in RA1, i glad to see it in these mod :)
I didn't say propeller planes don't serve today, I only said that Yak9 looks obsolete flying above RA2 and RA3 units. Take that Harbinger as example.
@Black_Drakon: Saying that in this alternate reality science is more advanced actually means that there should be something newer.
I like Yaks9 in Il2 simulator, I have nothing against the plane itself. But they are from WW2 era while Red Alert is alternative Cold War. That MiG15 would be actually much better fitting. (But giving Soviets their real plane, MiG21 should have that honor.)
Of course it looks obsolete, it is!
Lets forget the nonsense arguments! You know for a fact that a number of Soviet countries continued to use Yak-9 well into the late 1950's (has in 1959), i.e. during the cold war.
Discuss (or argue) away, it is not going anywhere!
Like Korea you mean...
Never mind, have it there. I didn't want to start this.
