I would agree with him - why does the ground glow red, when the clustermines didn't hit the ground?
The "real" mines appear instantly on the ground. To keep gameplay as intact as possible I thought it was important to leave the original mines (glowing red) and have them appear the exact instant that they really come into being. The special animation is just fluff, after all.

really nice would be really cool if you could make it drop a couple of bombs instead of one since that is how cluster missions are actually done.

i still only see one bomb split in half and all the photos and videos ive seen show an aircraft drop two bombs in quick succession. i dont know i might be able to see it better in a different angle
