Basically this mod will just adjust the units and gameplay of FoC to make it more canon to Star Wars lore. At the moment it will only be space. This means all ships will be rescaled and the amounts and types of weapons will be increased in order to try and bring them to spec. This is not meant to balance the game, but to make it more "realistic". There will be no fancy new ships or stunning new graphics (yet), just a difference in gameplay that will hopefully mimic the style and action of the films.
Superiority fleets are designed to maintain space superiority in sectors with "four or fewer worlds confirmed hostile to the New Order, and no more than 16 additional worlds with confirmed significant hostile elements". These fleets consist of six Star Destroyers and a number of support ships. They are ideal for gaining and maintaining control of the space around a system. The Empire will be able to deploy a considerable number of these fleets when compared to the Rebel Alliance and Zahn Consortium, but they will sap population capacity away from other critical sectors.
A quick Q about the pre-made fleets... will they cost less/use less pop points than building each ship individually?
yes, they will be slightly more cost-effective but will be more useful as individual units due to the fact that you will be unable to call them in as reinforcements during a battle (its a problem witht the engine: you can call in the flagship but the reinforcements dont come with it). as for pop points they will use the same amount of points as all of the ships in the fleet put together (or if that number is too high it will max out the population capacity for that battle)
