A standalone expansion of the Call of Warhammer experience. Fewer scripts, unlocked gameplay, brand new factions, new continents, dozens of new units, new music, and much more.
Indeed they do, so much. We're constantly brushing up against them and needing to be smart and careful, that's why we don't go crazy with loads of similar units.
They're hero/general models for the campaign, so they'll have stats, traits, and eventually custom ancillaries for each of them, in the way Karl Franz or Archaon do. To give each of them their own unit with its own stats wouldn't be possible with only 500 total units allowed in Medieval 2.
i hate to say it but:
can you add hafling militia, gyrocopters, the lions of chrace on chariot, the sisters of sigmar! and war altars of Ulric and Morr? :) (it's a petition, if they can't be added i totally understand)
there was a guy making a sub mod for call of warhammer with some units that i requested i just wondered if they could be added by joining the team of this mod, or a permission
We do have permission to use them, the problem is the maximum number of units allowed in the game, which is 500. By putting the War Altar of Morr and Sisters of Sigmar in, we'd be deciding NOT to put in other things. Right now, with so many factions lacking important units, things like those, which don't actually give any advantage to the Empire by having them, just don't make the cut.
Wow, when you guys said you were going to take characters from the older lore you weren't kidding. It will be nice to see Genevieve again, haven't read any of the books she appeared in for awhile. I wonder if my copy of A Beast in Velvet is still on my book shelf?
That's what we're going for. The people that have read the books and love their factions of choice can play the game and crack a smile when they're able to actually fight with Malus Darkblade, Calard of Garamont, Gotrek and Felix, Brunner, Genevieve, Matthias Thulmann, Tyrion and Teclis, The Red Duke, and a bunch of others either available at start, or spawned at some point.
We're limited in the number of new units we can add, but not the number of characters, including unique models and eventually traits and ancillaries. Why not go wild and put everything we can in?
The hero units are nowhere as powerful as they are in total war warhammer but they are decent enough. When the general is alone he can take down even a few chaos warriors before he dies which doesn't exactly make him the next Sigmar but capable enough to stand above a common soldier. I think this actually works better as when Dawn Of War implemented hero units they stood out too much and kind of weakened the strategy element as instead of a strong army, a few notable names would win a battle. I would not want to see this repeated in another great strategy game so I'm happy with how they currently work. I am really happy to see more famous characters included though so keep up the great work.
Yeah, the goal is for the heroes to be better than average, but not "Herohammer". Certain ones are even more powerful, to showcase how badass they are, like Grimgor, Archaon, Karl Franz, etc., but even they can and will go down to regular troops if unsupported.
are there heroes mostly only campaign or will it be able for custom?
Again, amigo? :P
Campaign, we've already said it a thousand times!
Unfortunately it will never be possible to make proper custom battle heroes in Medieval 2 Total War in the way Total War: Warhammer has them.
Couldn't you do the Hyrule Total War method and make them their own units, I would think they already are.
EDIT: I just read your bottom post. Hardcoded limits kill dreams.

nice
Genevieve what factions hero?
The vampire who is loyal to the Empire? I guess she is for the Empire.
Didn't she say Magnus the pious touched her up her skirt?
Yes she did. Magnus the Pervert.
Do they have diffrent stats or it just gonna like in vanila where his stats is base on campain map attribute ?

One of their very old posts had Chracian lion models, so just sit tight. Dem cold ones gonna get clawed to death soon enough...
