Call of Chernobyl is a free-play sandbox mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Call of Pripyat created by TeamEPIC. I'm playing CoC V1.4.22, about 1 hour into the game.
All was going well, until I decided to shoot down a helicopter that was harrying me... took me awhile to do it, but finally succeeded.
I watched the helicopter plummet to the ground in flames, but just as it hit, the game crashed.

My system:
Intel i7-3820 (Sandybridge-E)
32GB RAM
plenty of available disk space, running on SSD
Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit

Installed mods:
> Arsenal Overhaul 3.1 ( you must install this add-on first )
> Outfit Addon 1.4.7 ( adds 26 new suits )
> the included AO Patch that comes with Outfit Addon.

Okay, I appear to have fixed this. Based on the comments about EAX in the error log, I just disabled EAX in my play-through.
Now, when I shoot down a helicopter, the explosion is silent, and no crash occurs.
