Following the GZDoom port of Doom 64, BD-64 revitalizes the old Doom 64 with new special effects, particles, lightning, gore, new sounds, more weapon animations (shotgun reloads, smoother minigun barrels, etc.) and monsters and stuff cut from the original Nintendo 64 version. Works on GZDoom and Zandronum in OpenGL mode. (Zdoom and Zandronum Software mode are not supported.) No downloads available yet. Mod still is very early WIP.
Oh well, just 8 hours after I release BD64, I have an "Eureka Moment" and discover a more efficient way to render the faux lens flares. Seems like a 1.1 update will be required soon. This is the part about modding that sucks. :P
Locking a sprite in a certain axis you say?
The mod still beautiful btw, amazing work.
Nope, its a witchery using both sprites and models.
Did you make these textures from scratch or use an emulator to drag them out?
if your able to implement Bloom and Tone Mapping from GZDoom 2.2.0 you won't these fancy effects anymore, it will out right look realistic with the Lighting bleeding on the Sprites around them rather then looking like blotches.
Bloom and Tone Mapping alone are not capable of making flares like this.
You CAN run this on GZDoom 2.2.0 btw.
Yes, and I'm enjoying it...WOO!
Also why are many screens and other readables in the game very badly detailed?
Nash has a method for lens flares you might look into:
Awesome.
aaaw, such a shiet! haha. The mod is great anyways.
