Legends of the 3rd Age (formerly: Blue Wizard Mod) adds two new playable factions, Lothlorien and Moria, to The Battle for Middle-earth(tm). These factions come with a fully functional AI. It also enhances the original factions with additions and changes the gameplay. The focus here is clearly on multiplayer. Units and structures are designed to fit in the original game's style.

spooky O:O one thing, he is only cheap because you are still creating right? shoulndt he be a necromancer before he has the ring and then when you get the ring you can put him with his armour and more health, armor and damage. Of course maybe you could still pass him from necromancer to have the armour before he has the ring, but he is more weak than if he has the rings. Well anyway continue the good work ;)

Yes, I gave him a very low cost so I can always recruit him from start to test him. I thought about that too; then again that all depends on how Sauron is going to be added to the game. One option would be to simply make him recruitable, then it would make sense to have him start as Necromancer. Another option would be to imitate BFME 2's Gollum script, and as soon as Gollum dies he would drop the ring. That would however not work as great as in BFME 2. The third option for him would be a spell book temporar summon, which I don't really fancy much though. I don't like cool heroes being temporar. ;)
The 4th and last option would be to make him unlockable in the buy menu through spellbook.

One of these options will eventually be implemented. ^^

i think the fourth option is the best one. it should be one with more point needed, like putting 2 or 3 powers with the maximum points needed and one of them being Sauron with the rings, and then you could have a less powerful but still very powerful Sauron as Necromancer :)

That remains to be seen. I'm not entirely convinced by the spellbook thing yet.. we will see :D

ok ok :) but you are thinking of a spellbook power like the one that there is for Gandalf to turn him into white right? Well continue the good work :)

I am not quite sure yet. He might get different abilities depending on his stance. So he might be more of a sorcerer as Necromancer and more of a physical beast as Sauron. :)

I hope that this will not harm the balance, because it is very strong Sauron turns out (Although it should be). But in the game his power to harm. In any case, it adds new visual effects in the game and whatever it was I wish you good luck :-)

Yes, balance will be... Remember though that this mod is designed for multiplayer, so I will certainly try to balance it as good as I can. Every faction has a strong hero, and they will of course not be completely obliterated by Sauron, but able to stand up to him in a way.

I have played BFME competitively for a long time and I am confident we can get this thing balanced^^.

Description

Hey Ho,

a late happy new year to all of you! Sorry, its been a long time since the last update and that because I was quite busy during the Christmas time and I currently do have problems with my Laptop that need to be figured out as soon as possible.

Also there was this extemely annoying bug I had to deal with concerning Sauron. To be honest, I am not sure how, or even if Sauron is going to make it in this modification, but I really like the idea of having him toggle between his materialized form and his evil spirit. This is still a very early version of Sauron, but that is the rough idea that I have in mind for him. Buttons will of course be tweaked at some point to fit more to his evil character.

I hope I will get things settled with my laptop very soon, I cannot guarantee a lot of updates in the near future. However, I am very dedicated to keep working on this mod, so it'll be all good. :)

PS: Orc Hordes will NOT be as huge in the final version, they will stay the same. This is a mere test of how BFME 1 would be like with huge hordes. You can also follow me on youtube (www.youtube.com/pallandoya), it is likely that I will still upload some updates there that are not going to make it on moddb because I consider them too small.
