In this particular Earth in the multiverse, Black Mesa has been bought by Aperture Science and has been renamed to Blapperture Mesa. The experiment involving the Resonance Cascade has been shut down and instead, they created Jesse. An Artificial Intelligence with the capacity to manage Blapperture Mesa all by himself. Unlike GLaDOS, who killed the scientists back at Aperture Science, this project was a success. As a result, the humans have decided to leave the facility and let the AI take care of things. Fast forward a few years later, Jesse has awoken you to do some testing on the Blapperture Mesa Handheld Portal Device. However, half-way through the testing, something starts to look a little strange and maybe there may be something sinister going on around the complex. Something that you just can't quite put your finger on.
