Using Black Mesa assets as well as much of our own custom made content, Hazard Course features a complete re-creation of Half-Life's training level, including new dialogue and voice acting, HD models, textures, and detailed environments.

How does Gordon see the start-up interface without the HEV helmet?

How does he see damage-type indicators? How does he see his remaining oxygen? We've already considered this thought, decided it was a cool enough effect that we don't care, and the general consensus seems to be the same.

Also, just a note, we posted this in our BM thread a couple weeks back, and a couple of the BM devs made it very clear they have something similar in store.

I always imagined the HEV HUD was projected from somewhere on the front area of the neck of the suit onto Freeman's glasses/contact lenses. Anyway, keep up the awesome work!

What about adding optional helmet?
This would make things so much easier.
And make Hazard Course first chapter of the game and then after that we spawn on train station and go into the tram :D

We're not adding the helmet.
We're also not making it the first chapter for a few reasons.
Also, Freeman's training doesn't occur directly before the events of the main game (as your suggestion would imply), rather way before it (I took time to get official confirmation on that).

I meant it to be FIRST chapter on the list. And normal game after on the list.

It was DKY who made it. I just got the footage. I can't recall having made anything similar to the startup sequence - and I was quite impressed when I first saw it!

Maybe add steam particles, which activated by opening suit cell for vacuum-inside effect?

I don't think they had Google Glass or anything like it during the Black Mesa incident.

Yeah, that tech is waaaaay too advanced. They'll have to stick with holograms and teleportation, like everyone else.

I think this should be removed. Black Mesa Steam version now have their own HEV startup anims

We're not releasing on BM Steam initially, so this will stay for the mod version.

Once we port to the retail version, we will remove it and use the official bootup sequence instead. However, there may be some technical issues that prevent us from doing so. Hopefully the Black Mesa programmers can get that sorted out for us.
