Hey everyone.
I'm here to get some feedback from the fans on the subject of new models. Now I've been approached several times by people both in comments and PMs with the suggestion that I allow the fans to contribute to a fund that would be used to commission a 3D artist to make new models. Initially I was dismissive of the idea but having seen that some other modders do similar things and hearing support through my own followers I thought it would be worth at least floating the idea to see what people's feedback was. Basically what I am asking is whether people would support the idea of crowdfunding new ships and entrust me with their money so that I can get some shiny new ships to make this mod as good as it can be. So what I'm thinking is that if people reply to this article with their support/disapproval I can decide from that whether there's ground to go further. If there's support then I'll look into how much money we're talking about by asking for PMs with suggested donations. If there's enough to commission a model/models then I'll host a further discussion on what models this money will fund. Finally I will post a link to my PayPal and contact the 3D artist to place the commission. If at any point we don't gather enough support/money then I'll scrap the whole thing. I should stress here that I would not be keeping any of this money for myself. I have a decent job and I don't need to scam people online to make some extra cash. If money is left over but not enough for another commission then I will wait a while to make sure no more is coming and then return it to the donator/s.
