Battlefield 40k's Mission Is to transform the Tabletop game of Games Workshops Warhammer 40,000 into an FPS for the Battlefield 2 Engine. The purpose of our mod project is to put six races in game. The aim for first release is focusing on Imperial Guard Cadians vs Tau Campaign (details on the campaign will be unveiled near release of the first alpha). The Six Races Space Marines Adeptus Astartes, Chapter: Blood Angels Space Marines are genetically enhanced superhumans that form the elite forces of the imperium of man. They are one of the most loyal forces to the Emperor. The Blood Angels were formed by the Primarch Sanguinius, their genes derive from him. During the Horus Heresy Their founder died at the hands of the traitor Horus. Ever since this incident the chapter has not been quite the same. Their geneseed now contains the Black Rage. At times The Blood Angels will lose control to the curse and annihilate all the enemy tearing them limb from limb without mercy. Imperial Guard...

- Power Sword
- This weapon is only available to the Commander, Hardened Veteran and Kasrkin Squad Leaders.
- Autogun

- Repair Tool (Not imperial but Tau)
It was Battlefield 40K's four year anniversery in July, however we have been working on the bf2 edition since it was released. Its been a long hard road getting this far.
Most of us have full time jobs and other activities that take up our time and don't have much time to work on the mod, so we get done what we can.
Its been a while since our last update, just to fill you in on whats been going on.
We are coming very close to having all the infantry character models, equipment and weapons done for first release.
The mod is still lacking a few sound effects here and there, and we have quite a few animations and special effects to make.
Our mod team does not have a character modeller and we are unable to create unique looking commanders, custom squad leader models for each class for both races and the XV25 Stealth class for Tau.
Currently we are having to take a shortcut on the Squad Leader Models by giving them different shoulderpad textures to mark them out. or removing their helmets.
Right now we are trying to iron out all the bugs in only the infantry, their weapons and the game maps to prepare the mod for an infantry only release in November.
There will be around 6 classes per side. (Depending on if anyone helps us get the XV25 Stealth done).
We have dropped the vehicle crewman class for now from both teams.
Anyway until the next update.

I do believe that this is for battlefield 2142 because of that the newer engine supports walkers

Oh man, I'm excited for the release, I remember seeing this mod some time ago. Now that I've re-installed BF2 again, I'll be awaiting for it's release. Keep up the good work.

Looks good but the textures do need a little work...
Sweet. I cant wait to play! However, are you going to make this game like the actual tabletop game in terms of tau tactics vs IG tactics? Tau always had WAY better weapons, but got outnumbered and ripped to shreds up close. IG weaponry sucks, but there are so many of them that they can eventually overun the enemy. Is that going to transfer into this game?
We use the damage system from Inquisitor rules as they account for hit location on different parts of the infantry body.
The sides play to their own weapons and armour strengths as in the tabletop.
As BF can't support more than 64 players on a server, the teams will end up equal in side, but with IG players having a higher number of tickets available than Tau, loss of vehicles also counts.
Tau may be bad at CC but they have the kroot class to defend them for that.
I would not say IG weaponry sucks, I don't think the plasma gun, or the emplaced weapons they have are not.

If this mod comes out eventually, I will get BF2 for it. One thing bothers me just a little...
Why have you decided to replace lasguns with autoguns? Or will both be in the game?
We have not replaced the lasgun, its an additional and optional weapon to the lasgun, it is the players choice which one they take.
