German Honorguard ("Black SS") is featured on some maps. Most often in the prison level.

Isn't this the parade uniform? Were these used during battles? And btw, nice to see you back in action.
they serve as an elite sentry guard so they use the black uniform. but they are pretty rare to see in B2F. if you played old MOHAA you are familiar with the style of their assignment.
Oh man, I loved the MoHAA... The mansion level had insane amount of SS and Gestapo :) even though some skins weren't really detailed it's amazing how 2002 game could have had so much good uniforms - Wehrmacht, Kriegsmarine, Waffen and Allgemeine SS, Gestapo, Panzer troops... while CoD2 had only poor Wehrmacht in place of 12th SS.
