Medics in ww2 do not carry weapons, only medic stuff in teir bags
and where did you get that idea?
from original documents and paper works. Medics start using weapons offically in vietnam war with the birth of the "combat medic" meaning a specialist rifleman with first aid knowledge and more medic stuff for help and stabilize wounded soldiers and let them go back alive to the field hospital

You are fighing in france, in WW2. If bunch of germans are surrounding you, and trying to kill everyone, the only thing you can do, is to grab that goddamn rifle and kill everyone that is trying to kill you, or your friends. In situations like this from mission "Defence of hill 400", everyone must fight and defend position, or die. Simple and brutal AF, but thats how war works.
