So we want to bring Team Fortress to AvP2. It shouldn't be too difficult, all of the weapons we need are already in AvP2, and configuring armor and run speeds and whatnot isn't too hard. What we need, however, is input on how this should go down, and modders to make the more difficult things happen, like possibly adding new weapons and more importantly, new GAME MODES, like Capture the Flag or Assault, things that teams do that aren't Team Deathmatch. However, this is AvP2 Fortress, so everything should have an AvP2 twist to it. Like Preds and Aliens on the teams realistically, but not whorishly. No Predator rocket-launcher guys, for example, but a Predator as the Spy, a class that's supposed to cloak and primarily use a knife anyway. -- SMID

Post news Report RSS AvP2 Fortress v1.01 released

The mod gets a server side patch. Clients of version 1.0 can join servers of version 1.01 without upgrade. This patch corrects the server issue where CTF and 1F-CTF servers are not detected.

The change from the initial v1.0 version is a server side patch, that solves the issue reported by Xaijin, where the CTF and One Flag CTF game modes were reported as "unknown". This prevented servers running the CTF or 1F-CTF game modes to be successfully detected by clients.

Good news is that since this is corrected by a server side patch, both v1.0 and v1.01 clients can join AvP2 Fortress servers, without any special measures. The patch itself simply makes sure that both CTF and 1F-CTF modes are boradcasted correctly by the servers.

The initial uploaded full version files for v1.01 have been re-uploaded! This was due to the files having an extra changed file besides the server resources, thus making v1.0 clients unable to join servers hosted by v1.01 full-version generated servers. The patch is fine, only the full version files have been corrected. We apologise for any inconvenience we have created.

We have several downloads available:

An even better news is that the mod is slowly getting more players in. The following screenshots were taken on Friday, 3rd of October:

That's what I call action!

Back to the downloads, yes, we also have torrent files for the new version, if you're interested.

cool :)
It's time for Project "Savior"! Basically mod the game to survive the server being unplugged.

You can still play it online as long as there are servers hosting it, right? I think this just means that Sierra will no longer support it or update it.

Wellm the master server is the central registration point, where all game servers are listed. Without the master server, the only way to connect to an internet game is by selecting to connect to a specified IP and port.
