I'm not sure how you're taking your screenshots but if you bind a key to "screenshot" you'll get a much nicer and more importantly BRIGHTER tga screenshot you can use.
Some of these shots are so dark the detail is being lost.
i usually press F5 in HL2, its a default key for screenshots. i am still debating as to whether or not to leave it dark. my playtesters tell me it looks good being dark...
Looks good as it is, it isn't really bright at night, I think the lighting captures the night time atmosphere pretty well, and from what I can see (:D) it has the hl-2 atomsphere.
While it looks good dark, A lot of people will not go exploring if it's so dark. People find that if a map is lit better, they're more likely to go investigating areas because they can see if there's danger ahead and know not to go that way. If you want people to see the real beauty of the map, I suggest lightening it up a little bit. Not too much, just so that people won't be worrying about being frightened by someone or something in the dark.
