One-man mod. Planed to have over 40 playable factions. Going for realism with units ragin' from as early as late world war 2 to near future units. Mod will be release in the near future, as i plan to release early betas instead of holding on to something that never get released anyway.

I've never seen a spectre work in any other way then the one in vanilla generals, however a good friend of mine want to see it buildable and useable as a normal aircraft (buildlimit @ 1 or 2), expensive and all that. Special airfield needed, you name it.

So.. what i'm trying to say is that i will absolutly try to make it work in a diffrent way, don't count on it tho to work to, one can only hope.

i have spotted a problem in your descrition..the AC-130 has a M105 howitzer..not M102...i know wiki says that but i have seen them things...and i have have been told that it is a M105 by AirForce personnel

The ones used in Vietnam (AC-130E) used the M105-A1. Were they talking about the current variants of the -130 or an older version? The 'H' I'm pretty sure does use the M102. It doesn't really matter for a game like this, though :)

Well would be nice if you can implent something like that ... Spectre(forgot the name) in RA3 Uprising. Circles around the battlefield shooting stuff. But without infinte ammunition maybe so it has to re-supply on a Airport.
-just a thought-

RA3 uses an upgraded variant of the Sage Engine so i think it's not possible, also, i'd need to see the code to even get a clue how to code it.

Ehh, Generals model looked futuristic, but I always wondered how it stayed aloft.

Spectre looks great! Very deadly-looking. Would not want to **** that off.

Any plans to add the AC47? Weak, cheap gunship to complement the harbinger of doom here? xP

Its possible, Ac-47 Current Operators are Colombia and El Salvador.

But aint the Fairchild AC-119 a newer variant then the AC-47?

cockpit section needs a lot of work imo - just plain black is a bit boring and looks low quality - model is still awesome^^

Transparent windows and extreamly low-poly interior, does that sound low quality to you ? :)

you plan to do aircrafts with interior? well then excuse me sir :P
could still use some lines here and there but thats just my advice. blueprints like those ( Fc07.deviantart.net ) could help you.

Yeah i plan to do very, very low poly interiors, (100 poly or less actully) as you only need to see the most important stuff, like, dashbord, 2 chairs and 2 pilots, the rest will be to far in to see properly no mather how much you turn or zoom the camera. =)

yeah I'll get it - too bad generals dont have any nice shader so cockpit windows have to stay transparent all the time without nice glass reflections

Could you change the in-game altitude that it flies at so that it's a bit more intimidating having an unseen enemy raining death upon units? Though, it probably needs to stay low enough to be re-selectable...

Might be possible to do, and if possible, i will. Larger aircraft will fly at a bit higger altitude then smaller fighters do.

I have an idea for a way you could change the AC-130 in game.
How about having the Gunship circle a target area similar to the way it works in vanilla, but instead of you having to designate targets for it, it would automatically target any enemies in the target area. This way you wouldn't have to baby it and instead you could focus on doing other things.

I'll take this into account, and try to use this technique if my current plan does not work, that is, having the Ac-130 a unit you can control and need to buy.

I think a way that might make it work to attack units autonomously would be for you to set the unit to ground-guard and area when you order it to move to that area?

the most current variant(cant remember the Designation) carries the M-105..helll the airforce has been trying to get the M-110(the 175mm version) on the AC-130 but the recoil screw the airflow up on the plane...
