Archasis II is a moderately-paced first/third person shooter total conversion for UT3 set in a fantasy world of swords and magic. It features RPG-like player progression, cooperative objective-oriented gameplay, a variety of character classes, multi-path skill trees, and a hybrid of 3rd-person melee and 1st-person ranged combat.

After months of work, another build of Archasis II is now available for download! This version contains a demonstration of almost all the planned features for Archasis II, including:

  • three classes with 8 skills each
  • single player objective-driven gameplay
  • spell-casting
  • improved melee combat
  • improved bow usage
  • health and stamina potions
  • supply barrels
  • improved enemy AI
  • destroyable traps
  • complete UI makeover

We have submitted this build for phase 4 of the MSUC, and look forward to the competition after tying 4th place in phase 3 for the "best non-fps mod" category!

when will there be an evaluation available of rankings in the last phase of MSUC? I suppose it takes a while to determine an ovwerall "champion"?

It usually takes several months for Epic to judge all the entries, so I'm guessing we won't even know finalists until the end of October or beginning of November.

Ok so I've tried the mod now, it's pretty fun, the animations are a bit odd but they'll do for now. I find it rather odd that this is a coop mod.. yet you cannot play online.

Yeah, it is planned as a coop mod but the current release does not support it yet. There's a lot of extra coding details involved for online play that I didn't have time to polish up before the deadline... but I will definitely get that resolved by the next release.
