Alpha Project is a Battlefield 2 modification which goals are to bring back all the features that were left out in the retail game. The gameplay style of the mod is a mixture of arcade and realism.
More screens? As you wish! Also to compensate for the previous lack of any updates since a long time, here some nice captures to prepare yourself for more awsomness to come! :3
Love that weather and ak :O
Screenshots just don't do justice on how good this mod is... Everything looks HD and it feels so good! Everything about this mod is on spot! In fact Dice your hire the devs just to balance any future battlefield release.
Jones, why is it that in some maps the clouds and the sky in general looks HD and in others it is really pixelated? Can we standarized the size of the skybox file? Or is it more complicated than that? I am a modder myself just not the Battlefield engine and as soon as I increase the size and quality of a texture that pixelated problem is fixed.
If you want... you could send me the image files for all the maps and I make HD version of them.
Cheers
Its easy as that, some skies are from vanilla bf2 which are old and just dont have the same quality like the custom skies as in this image...
I see... thanks for answering... so keeping these old skies is not for performance reasons but you just need someone to give you higher res ones?
I always thought it was imposible to improve since probably 99% of the BF2 mods keep the pixelated ones for some reason... I would have high res ones if posible I mean you already improved the weapons and terrain textures alot from what I can see... why not the skies? It is the only part of the mod that still looks old school.
By the way... YOU FKNG ROCK Jones... Love u!
Actualy you dont need highres skies ive got a trick to make pixelated one look way smoother with a blur filter in photoshop, however while making it look better it doesnt do miracles as you can imagine ;)
great
Its good to hear that Jones... so that pic is pre filter?
noooo none of my ingame screen contain any filter i was talking about making pixelated sky textures looking smoother...
