I've just added some basic tutorials on creating levels from 3ds max r3 on win xp and fox tools to give some understanding in what it takes to create custom content for the game with some techniques i use. v1 is up in the tutorials section, there will be more soon, thanks.
I've finished up the Derelict level and I am moving on to the Colony level which is the second in the marine campaign. Derelict should be available once approved by moddb.
I'd like to make note that I may not be supporting the FOX version much longer since Rebellion can patch the steam version and not the old fox version is not my problem blame rebellion not me for not updating the fox version from 1999.
Because the steam version supports higher resolution textures for use in level and mod development it makes more sense to develop and spend more time in that environment then to rework a project 6 times for the same thing that doesn't matter and is just a waste of time and effort for me, sorry fox avp users but I'd like to make use of the features available than stay with an old obsolete version not many use anymore. Hope everyone can understand I'm tired of being limited to 128x128 8-bit textures.
In addition to working on the first two levels for the marine I also have one for the predator (sp waterfall) that has been posted(hosted) by my friend and fellow avp1 enthuiast Mad_Max_RW and is available at his avp redux site. or at my homepage at bladeghost_j.webs
I see no reason to post the level twice.

keep up the good work dude, that sentry gun and face hugger kicked ***, and your derilict level was awsome, probly the best aliens level Ive played in my life, finnaly some people making a aliens game how it should be, also that predator level was tight too. I,m interested in designing some stuff for this espeacially levels if you guys need some, I do textures too. I was trying to make a game like this for a long time.

but how about actually converting avp1 to the avp2 engine
that way you have more to work with and better graphics
Quite a while back I did convert some to avp2 but lithtech isn't like you think it would be. the only one to see the light was ('stranded) which I gave to my friend windebeiste and he re-did it more better than I could since he knows that engine better than I do.
check avp2 filefront for stranded redux, if your still interested in that, however avp2 to me is still very cartoonish and I prefer working in another medium, avp2 is eh ok, but for development the other avp tools and engine work better for me. Thanks.
avp2 engine sucks man......you cant dismember your enemies....if you shot with the spear gun to an arm or a leg it will disapear and when you kill an alien he falls in one piece and burns the ground .... in avp1 you can dismember your enemies and when you kill an alien the pieces of his body will fall in a random order and that looks more realistic or when you kill an alien and his blood hurt you is very like the movies and in avp2 its very dificult to die by the acid of aliens....you must step into the dead alien to get hurt and that kills the challenge of fighting aliens .... but if you are a good modder and you can put this good things like the dismeberment or acid rain when you kill an alien in the avp2 it will be great ...... but for the time avp1 its a lot better because its more gore and creepy .... its a very hardcore game ;)
