First to publish here, and second working, version of my survival rebalancing mod for ACM.
It's goal is to make game more Survival and less COD like. It makes Aliens mele and acid attaks twice (x2) stronger but it's about x2 - x3 times easier to shoot them down.
So it's like who spot who first.) If you can hit Alien - your weapon will do the work, but if Alien gets to you - you are a dead man.
Also NPCs now CAN kill an Alien, they still need much more time than you to shoot it, but if you are out of ammo or anything - you now can count on your fellow marines a bit more.Due to this changes it MAY be a bit easier to kill Aliens on open spaces, but it's how it would in real life/movie. Maybe GBX will tweak their AI and they will be even more dengerose.Changes:Weapons:
1.PulsRifle damage x2.1, rate of fire 900, magazine size 95, max ammo caried 380 (4 magazines)
2.Pump ShotGun damage x1.4
3.Smart Gun damage x3, rate of fire 1200
4.Sentry Gun damage x1.5, rate of fire 1100Aliens:
1.Lurker mele damage x2
2.Soldier mele damage x2
3.Spitter acid damage x2
Instructions:1.Remove (BACKUP!!!!) PecanGame.upk and PecanGame.upk.uncompressed_size files from Steam\steamapps\common\Aliens Colonial Marines\PecanGame\CookedPCConsole2.Copy PecanGame.upk from archive to Steam\steamapps\common\Aliens Colonial Marines\PecanGame\CookedPCConsole3.Start game. without PecanGame.upk.uncompressed_size game will recognize uncompressed moded upk normally.

For some reason the magazine on my game is at 142 rounds. The same was true with the other 900RPM/95 mod. Any ideas? The reserve ammo is 480.
The reason is magazine upgrade. In next version I will tweak upgrades, and if posible their descriptions. Though I don't know why reserv is 100 rounds bigger, will look at it.

I put the new PecanGame.upk in the CookedPCConsole folder and deleted the PecanGame.upk.uncompressed_size, and when I try to get to the main menu, the game crashes. Any thoughts to get this to work?
strange. Check that original upk and upk.uncompressed_aize not in any subfolder of CookedPCConsole. Also mod checked to work on original game with not altered exe. If you made any modifications to exe (or use pirated exe) I don't know if mod will work. If you are shur that original upk are nowhere near CookedPCConsole and game exe is unaltered, and game still crushes - please post all you steps and eny error message data, I'll try to recreate this error on my machine.
I am using a clean install with no mods.
1. I deleted PecanGame.upk.uncompressed_size and replaced PecanGame.upk with the new version.
2. I launch the game with no problems.
4. I get to the title sceen, click and the game says it's creating a party.
5. The game crashes.
I really want to play this mod, it sounds awesome!
Strange, creating a party? You trying Coop? Try single player ans check if it will crash. And try reverting to original PecanGame.upk and PecanGame.upk.uncompressed_size and check if it will crash, maybe its not mod that cousing it.
No, it's when I click at the title screen is when it crashes. And it works fine with the original files.

But I got one problem. My Pulserifel carrys now 142 bullets in one magazin. Is that right?
uppss...sorry stupid question. It´s the weapon upgrade in game to carry more bullets (original 60).
Yeah, in v2 I have not tweaked upgrades, in next version it will be corrected. Current list of changes that will be present in v3 you can check on mods main page.)
Can you make the Aliens harder in V2? In V1.1 they can´t take much bullets. One shot and they gone....
How can you open upk. files?
One shot from what gun and on what difficulty? In this mod it is intended that aliens can withstand only 5-7 shots from PR, or 1 shot from shotgun point blank. You cant directly open it, you can view contents of uncompressed upk through UE Explorer, and edit with hex editor. In a game section there is a tutorial.

With your mod, I have to press one time the shot button to kill a Xeno. Without your mod I have press 2-3 times the shot button to kill a Xeno. Maybe its because of the higher RPM?

Checked nad yeah, on UBA its 2-3 bullets. will decrease damage from x2.1 to 1.5 and look how it is then. Seems like UBA have some modifiers to damage.
The weaknes in AVP3 is great (I think). Multiple shots with the PR. And one shot with the Pumpgun (close to target)
Thats exactly what I want to acheave.) tested on BadAss:
shurt burst from PR to kill Alien on mid range (about 6-8 meters), and one shotgun shot in close range.
