Hi!
Please help and add a note here in the forum about what you would like to do, so we don't have unnecessary double work. To have all feedback focused in one place please use this forum:
Ahoi-mod.forumotion.com

Please test:
OOB's
Goverment traits
start Techs and techtree progression
Start Technologies
Unit progression? (Note: New component system not implemented yet. All std so far.)
NatChi/Jap war progress. Human and AI.

Please suggest:
Production focus of countries.(When should wich country switch to another build?)
Research focus of cuntries.(When should a country focus on what research?)
And of course anything else you would like to have or you might find.

Note:
Check your Checksum(You can find it at the main game screen)!
Checksum original: GSKH
Checksum AHOI-Mod-TFH 4.02: QZZV
You need at least a resolution of 1280*768!
Still no right models or names.
Research-AI will be changed.
Production-AI will be adjusted.
As some reported to have problems with downloads here at ModDB:
Alternate download at mediafire - Ahoi-Mod-TFH-Test-402a

Proposal:
My idea is to make the Mod playable with its current techtree and then switch to the new techtree.
All would stay the same, just the tree would be bigger and more detailed to cover the timeframe from ~1900-1970.
We could start then with WW1 scenario too.
So I would like to keep the needed work on the current techtree at a minimum.
The production/research-AI is new and can be aopted more easily to the expanded timeframe now.

Installation:
The Mod uses the new Mod-Dir now.(That was reworked for TFH)
So just unpack the Mod and copy it into this location X:\Hearts of Iron III\tfh\mod\. There you can find there the folder AHOIModTreasure and the file AHOIModTreasure.mod.
Now you can start the Mod with the launcher.exe in the folder X:\Hearts of Iron III\. Pick AHOI-Mod on the left and start with the start button on the right.
The first startup can take a while beacuse of all the map changes. After the game started the first time, just quit and restart.(Needed sometimes for get it done properly)
Beause of the new Mod-Dir, all the savegames, logs and map files of the Mod can be found in your users folder here: C:\Users\"Your username"\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III\AHOIModTreasure.

Quote:STEAM-Installation:
Locate your STEAM-HoI3 installation directory.
Like: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Hearts of Iron III
If you don't know where it is do a seach for steam.exe

Now just unpack the Mod and copy the file "AHOIModTreasure.mod" and the folder "AHOIModTreasure"it into this location:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Hearts of Iron III\tfh\mod

Start the Mod:
Now you can start the Mod with the launcher.exe in the folder C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Hearts of Iron III\.
Pick AHOI-Mod on the lower left and start with the start button on the lower right.

The first startup can take a while beacuse of all the map changes. After the game started the first time, just quit and restart.

To have an easier start later on, you could also right click on the launcher.exe and choose " create shortcut" from the menue that pops up.
Now you can copy that just created shortcut to the Desktop and don't have to move down the whole path to the launcher every time you want to use it.

Savegames:
Beause of the new Mod-Dir, all the savegames, logs and map files of the Mod can be found in your users folder here:
C:\Users\"Your username"\My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III\AHOIModTreasure

Folders: logs/map/music/savegames/Screenshots
Files: settings.txt/messagetypes_custom.txt(You can have different screen resolutions with different mods.)

Looking forward to feedback and your support.

Deutsch:
Hallo!

Bitte beachten:
Beachtet die Checksum(Nummerncode im Startbildschirm)!
Checksum original: GSKH
Checksum AHOI-Mod-TFH 4.02: QZZV

Also einfach den Mod entpacken und in Euer Verzeichnis: X:\Hearts of Iron III\tfh\mod\ kopieren.

Quote:STEAM-Installation:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Hearts of Iron III\tfh\mod

C:\Users\"Dein Benutzername"\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III\AHOIModTreasure

Freue mich auf Rückmeldungen und Unterstützung.

hi - i looked a bit into the files - for now i saw that in common/buildings the practicals are written in german - i haven't had a crash myself mainly because i haven't played it too much

a quick question - what are the schwereindustries and other things there and how can one build them?

Yes, some of the new files are named in german. But ingame, they will have english names. They lack just the needed files i the localisation now, so they show up with the name from the core files.
"Schwer" means "heavy". And new buildings will be activated later. Need to do some other things firts..

well in my test there are no practical gains in industry due to the fact the game doesn't recognise the german names of the techs (the pb is giving de names to utils such as construction_practical which the game doesn't recognise)

Chromos Dec 8 2012, 5:22pm replied:

Nono, it is because the buildings have so far only 0.01 gain in practicals. ;)
If the game wouldn't "recognize" the buildings names it would not start but crash.
In the whole mod is no "construction_practical" aynmore, just the german worded "konstruktion_praktisch". That means the same in german..
But why is that interesting at all?

i start the game, and in the first day, at 16-18:00 hours, it keeps crashing.but before that, i can assign units to new generals, i can determine technologies and i can decide which things to produce.is it because i have tfh 4.01?patch 4.02 doesn't find my tfh installation.i downloaded, but i can't install it.

Yes you need 4.02 to use it.
There are quite some changes in that patch.

Thank you. :)
And like I wrote above, the practical has just another name now. It works as before, but gain for buildings is low and start values are not done yet. It is still in Alpha-stage..

Hi,
thats done because that way you can instantly see where your Corps Units are located.
The "trick" is defined in the units files. Look out for lines like:
priority = 6

The corps units have a high priority and thus ar shown on top.
And the Div-Support units have a low priority to most times not be shown in Div-Builds.
If you want to have another setup, just give them a lower priority as the inf. :)
(Inf has 7, wich is already quite high.)

Do you think this could be made compatible with Plausability mod?
I just want the more brigades in division to look better instead of manually changing defines

I think that would be very complicated as both mods change quite many of the game.
So if your wish is "only" to be able to build more "interesting divisions build", then best advice would be propably to ask in the HPP area here or at paradox forum. Maybe other would like the same and you could start a sub-mod. :)
