Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.

To say that the Xindi races found themselves in a tumultuous state following the defeat of he Sphere Builders and the collapse of the Delphic Expanse would be a colossal understatement. It would be far more accurate to say that the aftermath of the events of 2153 and 2154 left the Xindi in a state of upheaval that teetered dangerously on the brink of total societal collapse.
Revered for generations as 'Guardians' and saviours following the destruction of Xindus, the revelation that the Sphere Builders were, in fact, little more than trans-dimensional invaders shook Xindi society to its core. The very foundation of the cooperation between the Xindi races was based on the ideal that they worked together in harmony, under the guidance of a near-divine higher civilisation, towards a future of prosperity and security on a new homeworld. The realisation that the efforts of each Xindi race had simply been part of the machinations of a hostile plot that would lead to galactic devastation shattered those dreams and drove the Xindi apart like never before.
