Imperial Preybirds are quite rare - only a limited number can be constructed, and a small number of Remnant ships have some reserve Preybird squadrons. This makes the Obdurate unique in carrying 12 squadrons.

The 'Obdurate' itself isn't in canon, but the EU gives the impression of the Moffs commanding reserve sector fleets made up of older designs (while Pellaeon takes the finest ships of the Imperial Navy under his direct command). The Secutor fits the bill nicely to serve as the flagship of one of these reserve fleets, and 'Obdurate' is as good a description as any for Flennic's personality.

I very much like this interpretation. In practice, there were still many Praetor I-IIs floating around, even some Mandator I-IIs, and we know that Moffs had their "personal fleets" thanks to the Tagge family and their own SD-line. Having these ships being used in this way makes much more sense than being able to construct or buy them (which wouldn't happened - they were old enough that people wouldn't be looking for them, and a trade would likely be done at a loss.

Negtharayas16 exactly - glad you like it. I think on certain planets the Remnant will be able to build a 'Naval Surplus' space station which will allow limited construction of some older designs as well.

One element I want to get across is that the Imperial Remnant isn't a tidy, neat successor to the Empire: it is a confederation of many divergent Imperial successor states that had their own fleets and doctrines and existed independently of and in conflict with each-other for many years. This will be represented by their having a slightly different build roster on different planets to represent their legacy units from the warlord era.

Thank you! I’m aiming for a release of the 25 ABY GCs before Christmas. Most of this content is done, but there are still things to polish and check, and a new GC to add yet.

Just to point out, the Secutor having only 120 fighters was purely for RPG balance, the ship as a larger Venator analog is able to carry a lot more fighters on the order of 2-4 times a venator's complement.

Description

Moff Kurlen Flennic was the last Moff appointed to that rank by the Emperor himself.

If Grand Admiral Pellaeon is killed aiding the New Republic forces to defend Ithor, Flennic takes charge of the Imperial Remnant and ends the alliance with the New Republic.

He commands the Secutor-class battlecruiser 'Obdurate', which carries a wing of 12 Preybird-class starfighters, supplied by Flennic's ally ex-Moff Disra.
