what if i want i want the armour of a lord i want to join. And how will we get targaryen armour then and will it be available for companions too and not just one suit. This is why i think getting rid of the cheatmenu is not a good idea as it allows me to give my companions similar armour as a sort of kingsguard grouo of soldiers. I hope you will reconsider .

Plus if you want it so you have to work for your swords just take out the named valyrian swords but keep everything else.

The whole point is to enable the player to stockpile good armour, correct weapons etc for the endgame - the White Walkers. If you can acquire everything from a cheat menu then what's the point?
Why should I bother wasting my time adding cool stuff to add a sense of danger/achievement when the cheat menu instantly removes that??
Why should I add ways or quests to achieve items/armour when you can get it from the cheat menu, I may as well save my energy if that's the case.

If you don't want to add the cheat menu at least add a "secret shop", or a quest for that targaryen armour, everyone wants that cool armour from what I saw.

But people who dont want to use the cheats can not use them and the people who do then they can because its there. I think if the cheat menu wasnt in the game it would annoy a lot of people but if its there then you can chose to use it or not.

I play honestly, but before starting a new game I always look, in the cheatmenu, what's new. Also, many armor are not in the stores, (and Stormlands, do not have a city). And how can I get Heartsbane, if I play for the Reach? And to use the cheat menu or not, this is a personal matter of the player. Please do not turn off the cheatmenu, leave players free. (sorry for my english)

But if I am, for example, lord of the Reach and I want armor that lords of the Reach wears, how do I get it if it's only available in cheat menu and by killing an ally lord?

Also new Targ armor - when 2.0 comes, I already planned to play for Targaryens, so what now I need to kill some of their lord to get this armor and only then join them? It'll kill roleplay.

Never used cheat menu to get valyrian swords (and I dont know how to get swords like Dawn or Longclaw btw), I bought my own in Qohor, but I did use it to get Lannister's/the Reach armor and I wanted to use it to get this new Targ armor.

That will not persuade me to keep it. Instead of complaining, trying to force me to do something I don't want to do, try and think of other suggestions. I have already explained above why it will be re-moved.

The targ armour can already be obtained through quests. Most unique armours or weapons can be obtained by killing the lord who has it. This is a pro to killing a lord and weighs up the cons of neg relations. That was the whole point, but because the cheat menu is their you then complain because of the neg relations, so now it goes hand in hand and solves a lot of problems.

Same with the weaponsmith in qohor, you really have to choose what valyrian steel sword you want, no more thinking it doesnt matter because you can just obtain it through the cheat menu.

You want that unique armour, then get this castle, wheres the incentive ifs already available to ypu?

You see how the cheat menu makes most things obsolete.

There will be other ways to obtain some of them. Suggestions are welcome.

Let me get this straight. Now I have to kill Randyll Tarly in order to receive his sword? Well that's not gonna happen in my game. A guy is a FOOKIN LEGEND! I can't execute him :(.

All in all, I support this, Produno. It will make game much more exciting, imo!

EDITED: but pls, make faction's armours and helmets more available in cities, then!

And if you put a secret shop in he game as oyher people have sugested before, nothing like heartsbane but some things like a good armor of the stormlands or items of the golden cloak guard or the Kingsguard but add something because not everione is like luka_mijic (The ******* Boss of Tordmund) and me someone just want to conquer Kings Landing Withs Longclaw and the Targaryen armor, That reduce the difficulty to the game? yes, but the miss the good job of the mod. Ita that people want the choice to decide for themselves. We arent saying we hate you or the mod its just want the option to decide. I dont see why its such a problem to you. Peiple will still do the quests for these items but jusg want to be able to get it from the cheat menu if they want it for companions. Please dont remove the cheat menu produno.

Plus weve been waitjng for weeks for 2.0 which is not your problem but to then remove an option which many people want would just be stupid. I really like you as a creator and your mod but things like this is why people hate acok because the creator doesnt listen. Its pretty obvious that people want the cheat menu to stay so why still want to get rid of it.

If you want to obtain armours then head over to the forums and make some suggestions ;).

People have complained about no endgame in the mod, i have spent a lot of time creating an end game (the white walkers etc) meaning you have something to work towards. You have a reason to do the objectives in the mod to stockpile the correct weapons for the imminent threat.
Having the cheat menu removes all of this and makes me feel like it its a waste of effort on my part.
You guys wanted an end game, this is it.

If I'm to create the mod i envision then the item cheat menu has to go. You all just have to trust me when i say the mod will be more fun without it. I can do the things i want without it. Then when you finally get that armour you like it will be much more rewarding!

No one will change my mind and it has always been coming. This is what i have been working towards. The only thing you can do is make suggestions on how you think you should be able to obtain certain gear without it.

Besides if you really wanna cheat you still can, ive just made a little harder to do so ;).

How are we to give companions armour then that will be hard for us to atain ourselves. I like the idea of killing a lord for thwir sword but for skme things like tyrell armour lannister armour i wouldnt mind having no cheat menu but armours like these should be available to but at cities such as lannisport and highgarden

I dunno, give me a suggestion ;).

I may add a way to buy armours of the culture you select on game start.

You could also hunt deserters. I may also add the possibility for caravans to carry all armours. They are more likely to have it from raiding battlefields whilst travelling than random blacksmiths making it for you.

My Lord Produno, I have an idea, remember in viking conquest when we capture a lord, we can take them sword, armor(via dialog), that will be easier for people to take special houses armor and many thing, for the sword as example, those lord will get it back when we lose against them. just like when we conquer a castle, the lord of the castle will try to take it back. it would be immersive.

Hey Produno. To make the game a bit easier, can you put an in-game guide on how to play the game properly. For example, where to get armours, swords, how many quests are available and hints maybe. I say this because the mod is really big and immersive that I get lost in the mod. I suggest you keep and remove the cheat option in the game, and make it harder for people who do want to cheat, like only if you own a castle will you be able to have access to the cheat menu.

I think the the loot after every battle should be larger, because a lot of people die which then they leave their armour and weapons on the ground for us the players to pick up. This will help people get the armours they want and the weapons they want in the game without having to deal with armours and weapons not being present in the faction towns they go to.

First of all, much as I love to cheat in Mount and Blade, I am really trying to avoid it with this mod. Part of what is so exciting to me is that the white walkers are coming and I need these rare weapons to even damage them. It makes the game feel kinda scary. The adventure to acquire them becomes a quest in its own right - hunting for a sword, tracking its owner and battling them to claim it.

I hope some other systems can be put in place as a way of acquiring them as well. Maybe add some swords that have gone missing (like Brightroar) which the players can track down?

Anyway, if you desperately want to cheat, then use Morghs M&B Editor, but I think you are missing the point.

On a separate note, would it be possible to allow the player to join the Kingsguard? I am no modder so I obviously don't know about how you would implement it. Maybe a system like Freelancer except you need to have very high stats and skills etc to qualify. It could boost renown and could be another way to acquire the armour so join Joffrey and get standard kingsguard armour, but join Aegon and get the Targ gear. If possible you could implement a few quests / events like assassination plots, attempts, battles (like the kingswood brotherhood). If possible you could have a potential Kingsguard for any characters with the King title - of course, this would require more meshes and textures e.g. rainbow guard gear. If it could be done (and as I said, I don't know) it would be really cool.

Regardless, love the mod!

Love your work, Produno. Many of us respect the time and effort you use to create this thing we love. A faction armor acquirement suggestion that I've always wanted in a Warband mod is the ability once you join a faction, to have a conversation with your liege lord/king/faction leader or his steward that gives the option to buy faction armor from them. I understand you can obtain faction armor from deserters, but not all types. What if the liege lord/king/faction leader or steward was able to sell all faction armors, including faction knight armor and lord armor of higher quality than the soldiers, but at a way higher cost. Lannister armor with gold accents and red silk cape or sash would naturally cost tens of thousands of gold and difficult to obtain for a fledgling lord, knight or adventurer. Then you can still make the faction leader armor/weapon still only obtainable by killing that lord (in a coup or from outright conquest as another faction). Having this option would be epic, but still maintain your vision that high level special armor and weapons be optained only by playing the Game of Thrones and killing those that possess them so in the end you can fight The Great War with them. Thank you again! I fully support your anti cheat menu stance. I used the cheat menu for years on certain playthroughs and it really took away some of the enjoyment. I really think taking away the cheat menu will reinvigorate the game.

Remove that ****, I support you.

I just don't like killing 'historical' lords, so is there another way? like can the item be obtained somehow if you just imprison the lord? can it be coded in a way that you get a prisoner, take his stuff, lose lots of relations with him, and then he gets new random 'lordy' stuff, once he is back to his fief.

Hey produno, extremely hyped for your mod, cant wait!
About the people wanting a cheat menu, frankly, i have almost 2000 hours in warband and i have never ever used the cheat menu. i do however agree that when there are so many unique weapons and armours, it would be nice to obtain them without having to kill characters that you like/respect. so how is this: if a lord has a certain unique item in his possesion, how about they give you that item when you reach a relation of 100 with them? takes a lot of time and effort aswell. or just a tough *** quest but this would require you to make a lot of interesting quests and more work on your part.

I think the reason people are complaining about cheat menu being gone is because sometimes you just don't want to kill the lord that has whatever item you want to acquire, or sometimes they just want 1 armour they can never find in shops (I used to do that with northern heavy armour but that works now with faction shops) or also the extreme loss in relations from killing a lord. I totally understand why you want the Cheat Menu removed but maybe there should be an alternate way of earning these items rather than killing the person that holds them, say with each unique weapon/armour holder there's a questline in which you earn their trust and friendship and by the end they give you that item. It's just a suggestion for people who don't want to kill that lord.
