While AWAAP development is still paused, hope is at hands: "Bandits, coming in at eight o'clock high...break, break, break,........Gold Wing take those fighters, Natley and McArthur with me, we're going after the bombers....I'm going in on the leader.........got him! his starboard engine's burning up.....follow my lead men, tally ho!" ".......Damn it Gold Wing keep those fighters off us, I'm being torn to pieces......primary fuel lines been hit.....Jesus, keep them off me you bastards....those last two bombers aren't going to shoot themselves down....good God they've got the Bristol, her tanks have blown, she's going down!" A Wing And A Prayer is a total conversion for the Homeworld 2 engine, moving the action from space combat to early twentieth century aerial battles between a variety of fictional aircraft and airships, ranging from scout fighters up to ironclad super Zeppelins. Description

Mercfighter – The Mercenary Fighter (or
Mercfighter) is arguably the best fighter in the
air, and is certainly a match for British and
German heavy fighters. Eight machineguns give it
unrivalled firepower, whilst heavy modified
engines let it tear across the skies. This unit is
not buildable by the Pirates but is instead
recruited as a Mercenary unit, who will fight for
the duration of its contract (usually one mission)
and then will leave the employment of the player.
The loss of mercenary fighter wings increases the
cost of recruiting more, as mercenaries are wary
of fighting for unskilled commanders unless there
is a sizeable amount of cash involved.

Bomber ‘Vandal’ – the Vandal bomber is the
pirate’s primary bomber aircraft, a small and
unprepossessing craft, the Vandals strength lies
in its immense adaptability, allowing it to deploy
a range of bombs, and even launch rockets against
enemy airships. Its small size also makes it a
harder target than the lumbering British and
German bombers, but its weak frame renders it
unable to absorb significant damage.
