The reason that there will be different mines is because each mines will a certain income, and a certain income speed. And each mine will be next to a cluster of resources. Also, this is also meant for strategic use, so you could ask: (Example Given) "should I spend more by building a Ore Extractor and get alot of credits at a slow pace, or should I get a Carbon extractor so I can get credits at a fast pace but in small quantities" . There will be special build pads for each type of Extractor, and they will have their own upgrades.
