A rebalance of AoE RoR with 37 new civs, several new units, resource trading, harder AI, and much more. The goal of the mod was to stay as true to the original design as possible while still expanding upon the game and adding more depth to its design. Requires UPatch HD. To install: unzip the file(s) and move the 5thLegacy mod folder into your AoE directory/mods folder and load in UPatch's mod manager. Installing UPatch will make the mods folder in your AoE directory.
Version 1.84 applies some balancing changes as well as introduces a few new changes. Villagers now gain +1 attack from Toolworking and Metalworking. The Expanded version now includes building destruction animations for Stone Age and Copper Age buildings. The Healer unit is now available in the Classic version.
Amazing mod, I have question. How to get updated graphics in random map? The most of updated stuff are in scenarios and campaign which I dont play very often.
What do you mean by "updated stuff"?
There are two versions: Expanded and the default version. The Expanded version has lots of new units and features that are not included in the default version and can be used in Random Map games (like the Elite units and Women).
Thanks for your response! I meant about updated graphic elements such as rain, snow, etc. But it is not that important, since graphics is much better than original game even in random map. This mod is amazing, I feel like playing completely new game, thank you for your effort, like all new additions to the game and new units.
Yeah I know, I am using expanded version. Hope we will get many new cool stuff in future versions of this mod.
One final question, how hard is to incomporate new language in the game (your mod)? I would gladly translate all stuff in game for serbo-croatian speaking people. Should I ask you this or upatch devs?
Things like rain and snow can be disruptive or hard on the eyes, so it wasn't a good idea to add them to standard games.
Mods have their own language settings and is separate from UPatch's settings, so I would have to distribute the mod with the new language file.
That makes sense, I tried scenario with rain now and saw what are you talking about.
As I said before I'm willing to do whole translation if you are willing to add that in the future versions. If you are interested, tell me how to do it, idk really how all of that is functioning. I don't want to force you on anything, this is just suggestion.
I see the mod "Rise of the Empires" has add units "Heavy Chariot Archer", I hope you can add units for the next update, tks.

Yes, Philistines can't build Wonders; its intended as a civilization weakness.
I was not aware of the incorrect name, thank you for pointing it out. I did get some leader names from other people and some were not the original English names; however, I did adjust many before putting them into the game, but I must have missed the Bactrian ones.
Oh, but I forgot to report: When I press Ctrl + U, it doesn't select and view Trade Workshop immediately, that's too slow to buy/sell resources, please update this feature. Thank you!
Unfortunately that's not something I can fix. I'll ask the author of UPatch about it, but nothing is guaranteed. Alternatively, you can use a control group for your Trade Workshops (groups 8 or 9 would probably work best).
Can you change the architect style of Sa Huynh (ancient Champa) to Indian style, in history, Sa Huynh or Champa was more Indianized, not like Van Lang (ancient Vietnamese) was more Sinicized in later time.

5thLegacy uses 75 population for balancing/gameplay reasons. It is still possible to play with 200 population in multiplayer.
I play "Voice of Babylon" campaign, after finishing "Holy Man", there is no next scenario in v1.84, but it still work in v1.83, please check and fix, thank you!
I'm not sure what could be the issue. Those campaigns are original and not modified, and they don't have any issues on my side. Does the issue occur with the other old campaigns?

Hello, do I have a question for you? and you can make the buildings a little bigger, otherwise it's wrong - these are big soldiers and small buildings, thanks in advance.
Re-rendering all of the buildings in the game is nearly impossible as the required files are not easy to find or nonexistent. Additionally, making buildings larger would cause issues for the AI as they are designed to work with the smaller buildings.
Smaller buildings is a design choice to help make units and buildings more distinguishable from each other; this was especially important when games were played on 640x480 or 800x600 resolution. I don't have any intention of changing the size of buildings.
Hello, Proseon5. It's been nearly a year since we released the 1.84 version. I just read you're still working on this and I'm probably going to be busy as well for the next few months, but if you still want to work on AOE1 modding after completing your plans for the 1.85 release, I may be willing to come back next year to finish what we were doing.
