Imagine a world where the Allies didn't win the war, nor did the Axis. Instead, the war just continued on and on in an unsteady stalemate. Welcome, to the world of 1949. In this world Germany decided not to bomb London, but instead continued its attacks on Britain's airfields. Then, the Russians lost at Kursk. Finally, D-Day fails. With these victories, Germany has managed to halt the Allie's progress. In the Western Theatre, the Allies and the Axis each plan the invasion of the other's vital territories. In the Pacific, Japan and the United States are dueling over tiny islands with giant fleets and atomic weapons. Now, the stalemate is about to be broken. Germany is preparing an all out invasion of Britain. As tough and valiant as the Allied troops defending the Sceptered Isle are, some of their leaders are beginning to that they will be unable to hold against the Wehrmacht.
Polizei come in all shapes and sizes. There most common usage was to pacify regions under German control. This unit belongs to the Panzer Elite, and is used to secure territory or for other auxiliary roles. They can hold their own in a fight, but they aren't the best soldiers, which is exactly the point. Why waste elite troops on occupation duty, when other forces are available for the task? More details on them will follow in the next update, so stay tuned.
i'm not feeling the light green/teal in the back there. but this is still a early concept.
Look up Schutzpolizei uniforms on google images. They were the ones who brought the green into this. The green ones are a minority, but they will still be in the unit.
Maybe you could add some dirt to it?
Dirt is one of the toughest textures to apply to any clothing item. I'm doing some experiments with it, but in the meantime, we can just assume that these guys do a mean load of laundry.
kar98k's still?
The STG-44 should be the main weapon. Only snipers should use Kar98k's. Should only be a specialist weapon =_=.
Polizei are occupation and pacification troops, not frontline combatants (not usually). They receive older weapons like the K98 and MP-40 because arming them with better weaponry is a much lower priority than equipping more battle ready forces. That isn't to say that these men are pushovers, they can actually fight with great vigor, but they are still just armed policemen.
Its 1949 and u still use kar98's?
