Mapper for Cobalt-57, mapper and over-enthusiastic Half-Life, Doom, Quake, 90s culture, Marvel and MCU fan. Unpopular opinion: the 1980s are an outrageously overrated and terrible decade and I hope the constant worshipping of it dies.

Quake

Game review

An amazing, underrated FPS that was the first FPS to bring a full 3D engine to the table, but more importantly gave us an awesome new world to fight through. The story (if you can call it that) is great, but more importantly the levels, environments, the monsters, the gunplay and the pacing are all absolutely amazing. The dark, Lovecraftian atmosphere and monsters are almost beautiful while being scary at the same time, while the levels are mostly fun and relatively straightforward, so you won't get lost too much. And of course it has a great multiplayer as well, which was all the more befitting considering how hectic the gameplay really is.

Overall, yet another all-time great from id that absolutely belongs in the same ranks as the likes of Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. It's a shame though that it never got a proper sequel aside from the 2 mission packs, though these are also pretty great.

Quake 2

Game review

A bit of a harsh rating, but I really can't give it any higher because despite being named "Quake II", it's just so far removed from the original game. Granted, it is still a decent FPS, but it throws away the awesome Gothic/Lovecraftian setting of the first game in favor of a supremely generic sci-fi aesthetic that really doesn't look much different from Doom and is just utterly boring compared to the dark, twisted environments, castles and monsters of the first game that were so interesting and fun to explore and fight through. The mission-based gameplay structure is another down mark as well, as I much preferred the episodic structure of the first game.

Overall, an average FPS and a terrible, terrible Quake "sequel". Id really should have kept this as a new IP like they originally intended, instead of making it a "Quake" game just because it plays similarly. The "Star Fox Adventure" of id's FPSes.

Half-Life 2 Beta Minimalist Mod

Mod review may contain spoilers

This is the real beta mod and if you disagree, you are an idiot.

Trypophobia is an aversion to the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes, or bumps.[3][4] It is not officially recognized as a mental disorder, but may fall under the broad category of specific phobia if fear is involved and the fear is excessive and distressing.[1][3] People may express only disgust or both fear and disgust to trypophobic imagery.[3]

The understanding of trypophobia is limited.[3] Although few studies have been done on trypophobia, researchers hypothesize that it is the result of a biological revulsion that associates trypophobic shapes with danger or disease, and may therefore have an evolutionary basis.[1][3] Exposure therapy, which has been used to treat phobias, has been proposed as a treatment.[1]

The term trypophobia is believed to have been coined by a participant in an online forum in 2005.[5] It has since become a popular topic on social media.[5]

Crack-Life

The greatest modification ever made for Half-Life. Undisputably so. The great, well-written, Shakesperean plot and awesome characters, as well as the excellent sounds make it the greatest HL1 modded experience EVER. Also, best graphics and best dialogue in a Half-Life mod.

Here's my ode to this masterpiece:
DAWAJ NA RING, DAWAJ NA RING, ZARAZ CIE ZNISCZE, ZARAZ CIE ZNISCZE!!
