Woah... There's a (somewhat) active community still there for the Earth series!?

I never knew!

This was my comment. I forgot to log in first, so now it's stuck there like this.

Also, I just want to say, gsanders is like a modding superhero. Fixing up some of the best mods out of nowhere. It feels like all of my favorite mods have had at least some influence from gsanders, and every time gsanders comes around to work on a mod, he makes impressive progress in limited time.

They had a kickstarter going, and T2 told them to stop. That's a ceace and desist, even if it wasn't done with a letter.

Out of curiosity, what is your coding/modding background?
I know a good chunk of coding languages, but I only specialize in video games (don't know enough general code, tbh)

Was thinking about taking my own "peek into the abyss" but haven't mustered the time or motivation to do so yet. Hearing your story is kind of interesting, and I think it might help me decide if I should try or not.

It's good to hear this news, though it comes at a price, too. I know from how you guys operate, it'll probably be quite a while before I get my hands on this, but now you've started the hype train. It's gonna be kinda hard to endure 'til then!

Thanks for the reply! the more I hear about your team's troubles, the more I wish I could help. Unfortunately, I don't have anywhere near the experience you are looking for, otherwise I would totally try to contribute to your project. Not to mention I don't exactly have all the time in the world myself.

This is my favorite mod from any game, ever. I don't even know how you managed that, because I don't even know ANYTHING about Warhammer! Your game mechanics, art, music, and most importantly, diversity is what makes this mod so great. I should really try to learn how to make Warband mods, huh? I wouldn't dream of making anything THIS complex, but it could be cool just to get a feel for the engine.

Look at me ramble. I do that too much. Just know I want you guys to succeed, wherever you can. You are all inspiring. :)

Unfortunately, I don't have enough stuff to get even close to enough money to pay for a trip with the wharf master.

I have done everything the Magistrate has for me, and Wesfrak seems to be complete as well. I have done every mission I can find there, and I was wondering... The lumberjacks say to keep an eye on Lord Vankerman, because he is going to try to conquer the area. Is that a quest too? The Magistrate says the monks might know of places to go. Does he mean the Arch Bishop? That guy just says to take care of Wesfrak for him. The Magistrate also says the Wharf Master may know of new lands for me, but I don't have enough money to afford the journey. As far as I can tell, I am softlocked. I can't earn any money for the Wharf Master, because there are no quests and I have already sent my tax collectors, and I have already conquered everything. I made deals with All of the kings I have captured, (and the Khan is dead) so I never ransomed anyone.

The Magistrate says there is an uproar in Khans kingdom, but there is no way that I can see to address that, or fight them.

Am I screwed? And if I had ransomed one of the kings, would I have had a chance to fight them again and try to get their bonus as well?

You guys are hard workers, no doubt about it. I just think it would be wise to keep TWO versions of your work saved. Compile all finished pieces of work into their own version, and leave unfinished work in your dev version. This way, you can make smaller patches more frequently, without impeding on what you already have. What I assume is happening is someone gives you finished work, and you add it to what you have, and while you are finishing your own work, they start something else, and then you finish and start something while you wait for them, and then you never reach a point where everything is done, because someone is always working on something to add. You just need to keep something that is functional on the side while you work on making other things functional.

This is just an idea of mine. I am in a pre-college course for video game design, and while I lack experience, I am learning fundamentals, and am leading a team of programming students in our quarter project (which is to make a game in unity). I am not as skilled as you, and do not know what it is like to try to use Warband's engine, but what I do know is you frequently exceed your expected release dates. I think that is a good problem to have, to be honest, but I also think you should discuss solutions to fix it. Think of it like a bug in your project management, that just needs to be worked on.

Once again, I am not an expert, but I am also not incompetent. The very idea that your updates get pushed later because you add more things is just an inference. If I am wrong, then that's fine, but if I am right, you should just talk about it as a team. Love the mod and all of the work put into it, folks. Never give up! :)

MrPotzblitz, please don't try posting help if you don't know the answer yourself. 63 is the max for all attributes, and going over that usually bugs out the game. 30 is not the max, it is just the minimum number that you need to reach the max for the skills that rely on that attribute.

Now, his issue does sound like just another cheating bug. If I were him, I would just set my attributes to 60 instead of 63, or something of the sort.

Congratulations! You managed to come to the correct conclusion before being told the answer! Next time, read some comments before you post your question, because we have had hundreds of comments about Freelancer, and the community is getting grumpier each time someone asks about it.

That's a common issue with Chaos, whom I assume you are playing.
The only "fix" I can think of is aiming in first person, which should be easier to aim with anyways, but if you don't like that, then I can't help you.

You definitely have a point. They really need some sort of web designer on the team, to manage the mod page, because you are right. It is disorganized, and often poorly worded. Web design is not the focus of any of these people, really.

The only reason you got so much flak for your comment is how... Aggressive you were. Remember that you are talking to human beings who are making this mod completely for free in their spare time, and they have real lives and jobs, and families. You surely wouldn't be that happy if someone used your very words on you, so you shouldn't use them on others.

I don't think they have limited factions, just limited races. they can add as many "human" factions as they want. :)

They aren't guaranteed to spawn anywhere near you, so they probably spawned somewhere else on the massive map, and got killed by lords.

Hey Phosphor, it is called test for a reason. You are doing great work there, but you shouldn't assume people are going to play the test since it's rarely going to stable, and even if it is, you will be making a new character every few days. Those who do play the test are not playing it as a casual game, but playing it as a beta tester, to support the mod. the people on Moddb are only interested in playing a stable mod and raising a character.

I don't think mounts are race restricted, but regardless, the mounts you are looking for are found in the animal merchants wares. He also randomly appears in taverns.

So High Queen Khalida seems to be cheating on High King Settra.
Images.akamai.steamusercontent.com
Yeah... She is married to Tomb Lady Rayma.

I mean, I know Settra's kinda gross, and maybe rotting a little, but I never would have guessed that he was so repulsive that she would go lesbian to get away from him.

100 for that building seems kinda weak, considering that you can purchase an enterprise and earn 1600 per week.

Is there a list of what each building does specifically? Some building descriptions are super vague. I just built a Blood Bowl Stadium, and I assume it is going to give me either weekly or monthly relation. I wouldn't know though, because all it says in the desctription is that it boosts local relation.

Similarly, the Shrine says absolutely nothing useful. I once again assume it has to do with relation, though this time I am not even told that.

Sounds like something that would happen to a save file when you patch over it. You didn't do that right? The patch is not save compatible.

Sounds to me like Phosphor1 was right, and somehow you had an outdated version. That's why deleting everything and uninstalling worked. Don't ask me why it didn't auto-update, because I don't know.

I know it's a little late, and if it is on the to do list, then I guess changing it before then would be pointless anyways, but since the system is so broken, I would rather just have sea battles spawn on an island, because as it stands, you have to save the moment you decide to board a ship, and then save the moment you get off of it, because if you get caught by ANYONE on the way in between those two moments, you are screwed 90% of the time.

Lucky you! I thought the barracks would be a little more useful, so I assumed I wasn't using it correctly. On my Dwarf character, it gave me 2 dwarf warriors and 3 regular dwarfs. Not even warriors, just the basic starting recruit and that was after a couple weeks. Seems kinda useless.

So, not to be a total noob or anything, but is the effect of the Barracks automatic? I built it in a castle that I own, and it doesn't show up in the built structures list when I manage that castle. I can't tell if it's doing anything, or if I am supposed to do something. I checked inside the castle to see if maybe it made like, a recruiter NPC show up there or something but no cigar.

I guess the only thing I didn't wait long enough for is the month to pass. Maybe it generates units every month? While I am at it, I have not built a War Academy yet, and I would like to know how to use that as well. I hear that it generates the special units on it's own, but I just want to be sure.

So... This happened... It was... Oddly romantic.

I uhh... I discovered the first lord I wanted to marry would not accept a battle maiden, the second lord I wanted to marry got married himself (To some bitch who's name starts with an L) and then my final back up dude has had a thing for me for awhile now and he is quite... Poetic. Here's my steam screenshot of it.
