in Contra, things are unlocked through general's promotions. basic stuff ranks 1 & 2. at rank 3 you unlock the tech center, and rank 5 unlocks WMD's. this feature is why i turned away from Contra a long time ago. Contra Remix 3 is better in all categories.

i think your scale is a little off there. MiG-15s and MiG-17s weren't that large.

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted, but here it goes:

"Only non-intelligent human beings ask for release dates."

You've got that a little backwards, there, nip. Organized and smart modders should be able to give a rough estimate. If they don't have that ability then they're very disorganized and don't have a clue with what they're doing. When modding groups post those stupid "it's done when it'd done." comments, it makes them look like jerks. That old saying "ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer." doesn't apply to these questions. They're serious questions that deserve a serious answer. The mod looks good, but if it isn't developed by an organized group... then you might as well just hang it up because that means it's probably full of bugs and other poor qualities such as bad AI, expensive units not worth the resources; or even extra buildings that take up space on the map and don't offer anything of great importance. Those of you who are working on the mod can take this comment any way you wish, but only know that I'm only speaking the truth from experience of playing modifications from games dating back to Windows 95. The better ones were done by people who knew when they would be done and knew what they had to do to get it done by that date. The poor ones were usually the ones that had very few updates and the teams were grouchy a-holes and it showed in their work. *Throws hands up* Keep in mind I never said you can't have an opinion. So by all means say what you want about the mod, but takes this in to consideration.

For those of you who just can't wait, I took the liberty of finding this link. ShockWave is a "sister" mod of contra - and this is the remix of contra. Great balance, and great fun. if 0.95 isn't going to be released soon, this should tide you over until then. Certain generals obtain tech trees in remix offering new game play styles. enjoy!

:notice:1. "And if you can't wait for this than get something to do, maybe even get a damn life"

Thanks for the offer, but i already have a life:carefree: (note that this is only my 3rd comment posted on this entire site. i haven't even left one on the forum board.). Anyways, you say I'm full of **** and know nothing about me. I took time out from my busy schedule and spoke from true experience, yet your ****** basis is of a formal opinion. Two totally different things trying to be compared here. Like i said this morning, you can be a narrow-minded person all you want in the gaming community, but it won't get you anywhere. You have to be organized and straight forward. Everything should be planned out before the project even starts. i also took in to consideration the fact of having real life chores and jobs - who said i didn't?

:notice:2. "that is why blizzard's games always kick ***."

No, they're all terrible. Graphics cannot compete with the majority of games released present day. Also, Blizzard's game play is repetitive and boring. Their sounds were decent, but nothing you haven't heard in older games. EA has had some trouble, but if they're as bad as you say then why are they one of the best world known game makers and such a profitable company compared to Blizzard?

:notice:3. "Start understanding what it takes to make a mod and then talk"

I'm learning various programming languages right now and I'm dividing my time between that and learning CADD. Something of which i doubt you'd understand. You don't need to understand just mod making to know you have to be organized, kid. CADD is used for various other things, I myself am planning to use it to design REAL cars. Hopefully be an artist for Chevrolet or Ford. If your best reference to having a life is studying modding or understanding how to "break the code", then I'd suggest YOU get a life, not us. I HAVE experience, something you apparently lack. The online community is full of cads, much like you, and is the reason why I don't spend as much time online as I used to.
