I'm slightly confused with the wording for the special edition description. If I buy the special edition, do I still get immediate beta access and the other goodies just aren't available until launch? Or do I only get beta access if I buy the regular ($9.99) version?

Thanks for the correction. When I go to your Desura profile then the games tab (https://www.indiedb.com/members/chaosoftgames/games) it shows Cthulhu under there. I thought that meant the games you guys had released but then I realized that it says "Games Owned". Which explains the "Development" tab. Haha. And sure enough, looking at Cthulhu's page, it says Zeboyd is the developer. Unfortunately I can't edit my post now, so I hope you don't mind them getting a little bit of publicity on your game page.

But again, great game. And I still find it so cool that you (like many other developers here on Desura) talk to your customers and really are pretty friendly. Keep up the great work!

Finally got a chance to play this some. Simply put, it's nothing short of awesome so far. Seriously, for 2 USD, this is a steal. And I'm not one to normally rave about a game too much. But I'm about to right now.

In my mind, Evilquest is a sort of mashup between Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda, but being able to play as Ganondorf instead of Link. But it's also it's own sinisterly comical entity. I even decided to use a usb controller (with the last free version of Xpadder) that seems to give it even more of that classic feel. And I don't just mean by how it looks. I mean it's one of those games that I'll enjoy the story and gameplay and make references back to it, even when my friends have no clue what I'm talking about. Then I'll tell them to go play it because it's so entertaining.

Up until now, every time I've seen your guys' (by guys I mean the developer, ChaosSoft) other game, Cthulhu Saves the World, I've just kind of ignored it and thought I wouldn't be interested. Definitely gonna go back and take another look at it. If it's even a fraction as entertaining as (the little bit I've played so far of) this game, it'd be worth it.

Now, enough of reading my long post, get back to (or start) playing this game.

It just seems like it's being held rather far away from the character's body and is tilted forward a little too much (when you are holding it upright, not the sideways one). That's just my initial thought about it, doesn't mean I'm right by any means. Consider bringing it in a little closer maybe? I would say to look at The Elder Scrolls as a reference for what I'm talking about, but I don't want to give the impression that The Elder Scrolls is the definitive guide and you should base it off that. I don't think that at all, and it's a rather minor detail anyway.

And not to drag this out even more, but do you guys prefer that we buy from your e-shop? Basically, are you going to keep developing when the counter hits zero, or when you have all the money? I don't want to buy it from Desura and not have it count towards further development.

And sorry for the lengthy post. I tend to write a lot...

This looks very interesting. Sort of a Diablo in 3D first person + some parts I wish The Elder Scrolls did this way. Tracking for sure.
One little note though. I know you guys are still developing but the way the sword is held in the alpha gameplay #2 video is kind of awkward. Just in case you didn't plan on changing it, I thought I'd chip in my 2 cents.
Also, does the counter (on the game website) of the number of copies sold include the copies sold on Desura, or just through your guys e-shop?

Not to shoot ya down, but it's "Ich spreche Deutsch". You have to conjugate "sprechen" for "ich", which is "spreche". Verstehen?
