Hi, I'm WhiteDragon25! While I don't have the technical expertise to actually create a mod, I do have a wealth of ideas and concepts for one. You can see my mod ideas here on my profile blog, where I talk about them in detail.

Kinda sad that we don't get actually *new* faction crests for the Warlord factions aside from the Pentastar Alignment. They just get lazy recolors of the regular Imperial Crest. Also weird how there isn't any other name for Zsinj's Empire other than "Zsinj's Empire".

Huh, looks similar to a Keldabe-class Battleship. Inspired by it, perhaps?

That is a horrible name and it should be changed.

This is in *no* way influenced by my fierce arachnophobia, nosiree. >_>

Ooh boy, SO MANY NEW TOYS! :D

Let's see, an Iron Curtain-based defense structure, a new EMP Station, a Sensor Tower, several new support powers such as: Irradiation, Drakuv, Maintenance, Gear Change, and Wallbuster (their effects looking to be pretty obvious and self-evident), and the new Soviet Airfield. Speaking of aircraft, there's also an unidentified aircraft in the left-middle of the screenshot, which I'm guessing is either a new Allied aircraft, or one of the new faction's! And of course, a dozen Tech Structures scattered about.

That about everything? :)

These Desolators look to be just anti-infantry/anti-vehicle troopers; they aren't capable of garrison-clearing, so the Black Hand Squads are still needed for that job.

While the Crusher is nicely designed, doesn't its flamethrower kinda intrude on Nod's territory a bit? It feels kinda redundant to have two different factions both have flamethrowers.

Yeah, I never understood why the cyborgs in KW didn't have the Tiberium immunity that the TS/FS cyborgs had; the tech progression should've logically kept that intact.

About the Hub-&-turret system for the SAM Sites: what exactly makes it a hindrance for it? As far as I can tell, it works fine.

And yes, I have taken a few of your TI vechicles and other concepts here; they just work so *well* with what I had in mind for a MoK revamp. You do such wonderful work anyways, so how could I not use something of yours as a show of appreciation? :)

WhiteDragon25 - - 25 comments @ Expanding on the Marked of Kane [UPDATED!]

The Radio Interception support power was my attempt to give the MoK their own intelligence support power in comparison to their BH and vNod counterparts. Tapping into vehicle communications seemed like a natural choice. Plus, the MoK are Nod's most advanced army, so of course they would have what would be the most powerful of the intelligence support powers.

The Phantasm may be a successor to the TD SSM Launcher, but it is also more of a successor to the TS Chemical Missile, just scaled-down and mass-produced. Incidentally, the Black Hand's Illuminator vehicle is also a successor to the SSM, and a more direct one at that.

And who could possibly forget about the Cyborg Reaper? It would be crazy to not include them in a cyborg army for Nod! :)

WhiteDragon25 - - 25 comments @ Expanding on the Steel Talons [UPDATED!]

That's where I got the functionality from, but the basic idea comes from the original concept of the garrison pods on the Behemoth and Heavy Harvester; these were supposed to give the Steel Talons some flexibility with their infantry and vehicles, but the execution felt rather lacking. This resulted in the redesigned layout you see here.

As for that defensive structure: hot damn, that looks beautiful! That actually looks like a pretty good replacement for the original in-game Tech Defensive Tower (which looks spindly and crappy). Jotting this down for future reference...

WhiteDragon25 - - 25 comments @ Expanding on the ZOCOM

I've certainly had the thought of ZOCOM being the "speed and maneuver" subfaction: the ZOCOM Mammoths would be faster than than their vGDI and ST counterparts, in exhange for thinner armor.

The Disruptor Tank works well in this as well, as being a tank instead of a walker, it's much faster than the Juggernaut would be conventionally (while not having the same all-terrain mobility that a walker affords).

I'm not sure if it would be possible to make the Zone Raiders move like that, though; there's probably some sort of programming limitation that prevents such an idea from working. Though, the basic idea of the Zone Raiders being faster than Zone Troopers could still work: just say that since the Raiders' Zone Armor is the next-gen version, the Zone Raider Armor has much more maneuverability and mobility than before, while still retaining its protective functions.

WhiteDragon25 - - 25 comments @ Expanding on the Black Hand

I'd rather have the Black Hand keep the suberranean tech, since the MoK already have Stealth, Cybernetics, and Tiberium-based weaponry, so this'll even things out with the BH having Subterranean, Flame Weaponry, and Elite Units. Plus, with the BH lacking both Stealth and Aircraft, having Subterranean units gives them both the mobility of Aircraft and the evasion aspects of Stealth.

What you've suggested for the artillery, though, I've actually considered myself: the Mole Artillery, in addition to its subterranean ability, would also have those high-explosive/napalm rounds you mentioned. Probably should've made that clear in the post. :P

The perspective of seeing the BH as the "GDI-esque" heavy attack subfaction is fitting, but I think my arrangement takes that into account well enough. Still, thanks for the comment.:)

WhiteDragon25 - - 25 comments @ GDI Concept Tech Tree

A couple of questions about this tech tree:

1: I see no Barracks anywhere in the setup, just the armory. Why is that?

2: That building next to the War Factory, what is it? I know it originally comes from a campaign Tiberium-related structure, but what is its purpose here?

3: The GDI Research Lab campaign structure at the bottom, what's its purpose too? I'm assuming that it, along with the above-mentioned structure, are part of some "diverging tech path" setup, am I correct?

4: Lastly, it appears that you can only get the Command Post (probably Radar) from the War Factory, and vise versa with the Airfield with the Tib-related structure. Can you only go down one path, or can you build both paths (up until the last row of tech structures, that is)?

WhiteDragon25 - - 25 comments @ GDI Updates

Perhaps a possible fix would be to reduce the amount that damage is decreased? Say, from 50% down to 30-35%? Still a substantial decrease in attack power, but not so much that it negates the increased fire-rate.

There should be a basic rule of thumb for this kind of issue: Any damage decrease percentage cannot be larger than a rate-of-fire increase percentage.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention: this thing needs a name badly. Any ideas?

Random thought: I get the amusing image of this thing being the bastard love-child between the Stealth Tank and the MGS3 Shagohod.

Thrax himself is dead, since he was killed by US forces in the USA campaign. This guy is likely to be his successor, taking the moniker and everything.

I've been actually having the same problem too. Even when I manage to start a skirmish match, I can't really do anything since the screen freezes so I can't tell what I'm doing (such as selecting units).

Anyone help with this? I have Windows 7, in case that helps specify where I need to put it properly.

Most likely. It looks like the Osprey and the Hammerhead had a drunken one night stand and this is the result.

WhiteDragon25 - - 25 comments @ Slingshot Revision

Hmm... While I like the 'Centurion' design, I feel that the Slingshot's four-cannon system is better than the Gepard-style two-cannon design; just adding two more guns to the 'Centurion' design would work best, basically making it a 'new' Slingshot.
